Continental Tire Racing League

For anyone that knows what the Continental Tire racing series is, its definitely one of the best racing series on the planet, in my opinion better than parent series Tudor. Its basically everyday sports cars such as Camaros, 911s, Mustangs, 370Zs, STIs, M3s, and also Civics, Miatas, and Caymans (and others) that are as close to stock as possible racing side by side in two classes. No crazy aero kits or huge horsepower numbers, just close and fair true stock cars racing.
I think a two class racing series with these cars (have to wait for the porsches) with mainly just tires, brakes, trans, and weight reduction changes would be awesome. Of course a few adjustments would have to be made to some cars to make it fair but this kind of racing would be extremely close and very competitive.
I have no experience with setting these up, Im just throwing the idea out there, but let me know if anyone would want to do this kind of racing or be willing to set it up.

This is the kind of league that I’m waiting for. There use tone the Forza Sports Car Series back in FM4, but haven’t seen one since. I would to see this kick off.

I have recently build a load of cars for a championship like this!

Have built the following:
Audi S3
BMW 235i
Lexus is350
Mitsubishi Evo X
Subaru Impreza STi
Volkswagen Golf Mk7 R

All with the same sort of build you have mentioned

I agree its a great series, I’d love to get involved in somthing like this

Count me in for sure

So far I’ve gone over the rules of IMSA CSCS and built some ST as close to the rules as I could and keep them competitive, with the exception of the 235i since that’s not an original car and the Genesis because it’s the 3.8 and not the 2.0T.

ST cars so far:

Mazda Mazdaspeed3
Audi S3
Mazda MX-5 (2013)
Civic Si (2014)
BMW 235i
Hyundai Genesis

I’ll send the builds I have for them so y’all can test them and give feedback.

I would love to see how your st cars match up. Ive been working on the GS cars and its pretty challenging. But so far the cars are all around the top of A class and are pretty even. Had to add alot of horsepower to the STI and 370Z.

love the sounds of this. I was working on a similar idea back in fm4 but it never came to fruition. I will defiantly be following this thread. If you need a hand on builds or testing; I am definatly willing to help. Keep us posted.

I’m down to race, and help with the builds I raced in forza Sports car series in fm4 and they had an amazing setup.

reminds me of the toyo tire challenge. count me in. im assuming the builds will be like C430 not staright up B600 or C500 class?

Here are the ST car builds I have. All cars had a base tune done and then ran on COTA. I’ll post the times I have a write what I think it’s the pros and cons are. All cars have a mandatory Final Drive ratio.

Great work up man, hope this comes together !

Alright man thats awesome awesome work. Im going to hurry up and finish with the GS cars but I was trying to leave the actual transmissions alone and just upgrade the clutch. So far the Z/28 is heavy but great and easy to handle while being mid pack speed. Mustang and Aston Martin are both very strong on the straights but lack in braking. The Aston is being very difficult to balance as stock it already comes with 565 hp, weight doesnt really seem to do much, and its really not too hard to drive. But it is seeming to turn around the same lap times. The BMW is pretty much mid pack everywhere, seems a little stronger acceleration and speed than Camaro and is very easy to drive. Havent had much time with the 370Z but its very light as is but is a little harder to drive and lacks top speed. Still working on Subaru, as hp continues to not be enough. Kind of want to keep 4wd cars slower because they are so easy to drive but the Subie is still off the pace too much.
I will try and finish in the next day or so and then Ill make another post on the forums to see exactly how many people would be interested and then start some private lobbies. I have no experience with setting up leagues so an organized racing series will have to come later when someone is willing to set it up.

Definitely interested in joining your league, but really want to use the Aston as I’m following the TRG team this year.

I’m a newb when it comes to “league” lobbies. Will there be a schedule of race times? Are we to choose the same car for each race to keep as realistic as possible.

Yes id like for people to stick with the same car but it really doesnt matter. Brand loyalty should keep people rooted. But no this isnt super organized and complicated. I personally have no experience setting up leagues, this would just be a lobby where we recreate races similar to the actual CTSC. In the future hopefully it will become bigger. Right now theres not enough people interested and no real feedback from the designated car setups from me and OneBigMan43. So once those are complete we can get the meet ups going

Can’t wait for this to take off!
