Ive now played around 15 hours in the the game and I never thought FM7 could
feel so god to drive!! The tirephysics the suspension and how this translates through
my wheel is Amazing. The weightshifts feels so natural and you got
100% control off your car. All this feels completly natural even with
no assists. This is night and day compared to FM6. My compliments
to the team and this is coming from a person that has 1600 hours in Assetto corsa.
1600 Hours in AC?
That game is not worth 1 hour.
Maybe not on consoles. You Heard off PC gaming?
That is the only positive thing I can think of right now. The physics with wheel. They got it just right.
Now, if they could get the rest of the game right…
Sounds like I have to give it a try with my wheel
However, the same applies to playing with controller, physics feel a lot better than on 6 and the feedback is perfect.
There are a few exceptions though, e.g. I don`t get the Formula E cars (less grip than one of those historic racing “cigars”)
The career mode suits me as well. I dig the progression and enjoy trying out cars I would usually ignore.
Since all I really wanted from Forza 7 was better physics and a fun singleplayer mode I find myself very happy with the game, despite a few issues.
Easily my fav Forza game since 4.
I agree it is my fav Forza game since 4 as well, I love everything about the game so congrats Turn 10
I’d go one step further. Im enjoying it EVEN MORE than Forza 4.
And that is high praise indeed.
This is the first time they have truly got single player career right. The progression mechanic is absolutely perfect.
Just to kinda check back … I went ahead and tried it with my TX and -to my surprise- it felt really good indeed.
I had some trouble setting it up (correct wheel selected, but somehow all buttons were wrong), but after fixing that it was pretty good.
Very unexpected since I didnt like it at all on 6, and after Assetto I thought I
d be spoiled forever in terms of force feedback.
It`s not quite there yet, but a lot closer.
Yes, I tend to agree. Each game has its time, and at it
s time Forza 4 was incredible. Forza 7 captures me in more or less the same way now, it`s been a while since I spent whole days on a racing game.
I have a lot of bad things to say about many aspects of FM7, but I am truly enjoying driving with my Logitech G920 on XB1.
I would love it more if everything was fine on my PC with the triple monitors, but I’ll wait for a few patches to see how that lands.
In the meantime, I can be happy renting a stock car in Freeplay and running laps of whatever track in test drive mode. It does feel quite good.
there are alot of legitimate issues with the game, but im hoping that T10 will get that squared away with a few patches. the game is fun but the AI is horrible in it. Ive played many many racing games on PC and this AI is just rail driving. You dont exist on the track, the AI in F1 2017 is alot better. You can actually brake in turns and it feels natural. the other car respond. That is my biggest complaint about the game, the glitches and bugs will get worked out. I believe T10 will do that.
The only other thing i wish they would add is Tire blow outs, engine damage, and the ability to run a championship in each class. Maybe that could be DLC? Im really happy people are enjoying the game, i may be asking to much from a Forza game. This is my first Forza Title anyway.
Now the Microsoft store, my first experience with that garbage and i hate that store. I really despise it!
I’ve noticed the comments of praise center around physics and single player.
The single player is the best in Forza history and physics are a lot easier than FM6. Really hard to upset a car.
Outside of that multiplayer and rivals are a hot mess.
I have to agree. I was on it tonight doing some single player and it definitely feels more weighty and realistic than 6. I also found that you can test and tune in free play once you go into the race where it has loaded the track. Not as intuitive as doing it from the tune menu so I still think t10 should add it back there but it works.
I like it much better than FM 5 or 6. The career is much improved.
I was playing Forza 5 last night while I wait for my copy of F7 and forgot how slippy the cars are when TC/STM are turned off, feels like the cars are on drift mode.
Is F7 the same?
Forza 5’s physics are fairly close to what you can expect from an actual car. Adjust your deadzones (0/100), use sim steering and learn to steer in smaller increments and make corrections frequently. Also, learning to manipulate the throttle and brakes properly before going into a turn, mid-turn and exiting a turn, that makes all the difference.
Judging from the F7 demo alone, physics have definitely improved. More realistic this time around.
I have not tried multiplayer yet, so will reserve comment till I’ve experienced it, for good or for bad. Rest of the game is great so far on most levels and I’ve experienced very few issues [so far]. So excluding multiplayer, only 2 downsides for me - paint booth needs a few extra lights and Rivals are really incomplete.
People forget about sim steering and go with normal becouse the “sim” one
is flawed and will hopefully get a overhaul. Use a god guide for the FFB (blue on YT)
Well I would say it has had some workfor FM 6 I used normal steering but it did not feel quite right on FM7 so decided to try Sim and found it if not easier but more persise I now have FM 7 set for sim l and no Break assist. Works a treat on the Elite controller once you engage the left trigger lock and as long as you use Traction control on the more powerful cars steering is nice and persise mind you if you muck it up it has almost zero forgiveness. But that is what rewind is for especially since you can no longer just do a restart.
So my settings are now the following.
Suggested Line Breaking only
Breaking Normal
Steering Simulation
Traction Control Off except for High HP cars
Stability Control Off
Shifting Auto
Damage Tyre and fuel cosemetic for some night races.
Rewind On In FM 6 was all ways off for the Credit boost
Friction Assist Off and should most likely be patched out can only hope it is.
And I find the racing in career mode very good better than 6 bar the AI But very let down over the VIP. At the moment I have 6 cars waiting to be redemed when I make enough credits.
If only the AI wasn’t as rubbish as it is. They said they fixed it. They didn’t. There’s a few other baffling decisions that I can overlook to a degree but not when it comes to the AI. Racing other cars just isn’t fun when they are constantly taking you out because to them you simply aren’t there.
They have problems in some corners esp if its crowded. I play on pro or unbeatale and usually have pretty god battles.
