I’m sure the 980Ti can too. its doesn’t run bad just not stable cause of no sli support on APEX, and when you force sli it runs like doo-doo which is the total opposite of what its supposed to do. Just hope horizon 3 supports SLi
I can run 4K now @30FPS just fine, 60FPS is buggy though
Problem solved. When I tried to install it first it said my computer wasn’t good enough. After few days it worked. Think I didn’t had enough free disc space.
Anyway, we have to keep in mind that Forza Motorsport Apex is a beta version and I hope they will release Horizon 3 as final version so we can expect slightly better performance. Well at least no strange stuttering and freezing.
Of course it will run on a 960. Will it run well though?..
How about listing the rest of your specs. A graphics sitting on the table will run nothing. You’ll need it plugged into a motherboard, with a CPU, Ram, storage drive, soundcard, etc etc.
Thing is, Turn 10 have only targeted Xbox fro development. With Playground there are many veterans of racing game development that have done multi-system games, so they are probably more used to targeting console and PC, which will give PC a bit more of an effort with Horizon 3, and then Forza 7 will take that experience on board. Why do you think Apex is a free to play beta? Because they know it falls short and they just wanted feedback, both from players and from their own data pulling. I think Horizon 3 will run better on more systems cos Microsoft really need to step up their game and with a team like playground that have that multi-platform experience hopefully this’ll be the Windows 10 game that gives everyone faith in the system. Because right now it’s tanking. One bodged release after another and problems with file permissions that i flagged during the win 10 beta. lol.
Come on Playground, do us proud!
I’ll be getting a free PC code, so i’m happy to take the plunge and report back! lol
hello guys i dont see a sticky or a forum for pc questions so here is my question
i can run the forza 6: apex on my pc at high settings and i get 60 fps (locked)
since i can run this will i be able to run forza horizon 3? what do u guys think?
Hi guys, I’m new to PC gaming and I was thinking about buying a budget laptop and I’m not sure if it will be able to run Apex or FH3.
Specs:
Intel core i7-6700HQ
8GB Single channel DDR3L
1TB 5.4k Hybrid HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5
The 5400 rpm is slow for gaming, presumably the hybrid ssd part will only hold the OS. I would hold off and wait until the new laptop gpu’s are released which should be soon. check out this article http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/229508-nvidia-may-scrap-its-high-end-mobile-gpus-bring-full-size-gtx-1080-1070-to-laptops
It should also lower the price of laptops with the older gpu’s so maybe you could get a 970m at a decent price. Make sure and try to get 4gb or more of Vram, it is becoming more and more crucial for good performance. A desktop option will always cost less and the gpu’s and cpu’s are more powerful than their mobile counterparts but it depends if you have the space for that. Currently I have an Asus ROG with a 965M, only 2 gb of vram but that was all I could afford. Apex runs ok but not great, 60fps but choppy at times medium settings. I have to mess with the video settings more but have not got around to it. I am hoping this is enough for H3 but it may not be.
The 960, 965m cards are also GDDR3 rather than the GDDR5 that the 970, 980m’s have. The 1070 and 1080 mobile cards that are getting released at Gamescom this year will probably be close to $3k. Hopefully that will push the prices of 970, 980m gpu based computers down but it is unknown, because it might just end up keeping them the same price and just increasing the new computers price.
I have a decent PC, but when playing forza apex it was using 4.5-6GB of my 8GB so should I upgrade ram for this game or is they’re memory leaks or more performance to come from the apex beta?
Hi i’m new here. I already installed Apex on my PC to check if i hopefully can run H3. But it’s stuttering. 20-35FPS. Sometimes higher.
Othe games like Project Cars and GTA5 i can run on highest setttings without problems. I don’t unterstand that.
My PC with an i5 2500K, GTX 770 and 12GB RAM has problems with Forza Apex, so I’ll stick to playing FH3 on the Xbone for the time being - its good to know I can switch platforms if and when I upgrade, but for now that’s not looking likely.
