The online lobbies, even at high safety ratings, are just insane. The number of times I’ve seen people ruin their own races just to push me into a wall is unbelievable — particularly considering they obviously know the safety rating system will penalize them, since the game explicitly says so.
Am I missing something here? I’m increasingly getting the impression much of the player base is just… not all there.
Way back when I actually engaged in multiplayer in a racing game (in the PGR series) we would regularly get people who would drive around the track the opposite direction during the race. Made things interesting.
Start pole position with good acceleration. Top 3 are usually clean. The rest is survival of the fittest.
Sadly that seems to be the current standard. I am not even sure if we can blame matchmaking, Ithink the pool of safe players must be really low.
The good news is that this game seems to be made to encourage driving, so I expect that with time the people who love driving and safe racing will remain.
