It is absolute garbage that you cant adjust deadzones in game while looking at what the pedals or wheel are doing.
That being said could anyone who uses the Fanatec Clubsport V2 pedals share their clutch deadzones? I’m looking to get the engage point to be as close to the cam point on the pedal. I just finally got the TH8A shifter. Thanks.
My V2s engage the cam at around 85-90% of full clutch travel, so if yours are the same then set the inside deadzone to match, and the outside to 100. In FM4 the maximum inside deadzone is 80%, not sure if that’s been changed for 5 as I don’t own it… so if it’s the same then you’ll have to just set the inside dz as close to the pedal’s cam action as possible.
Not sure how helpful this is but it works this old fart… and not having a travel bar to aid adjustment of the clutch in FM5 blows for sure…
I’ve got a set of V1 CSP hooked up and love them now that I added the TH8A. In FM5, my dead zones are 15 and 40 for the clutch, putting the active area near the top of the pedal travel. This about the same I was running in FM4 with the PTWS. I found shortening the dead zone helped to minimize the grinding effect. I was never able to completely get rid of the grind, but I think that is on my technique more than the settings. With the paddles I tended to be too quick with the clutch, thus mucking up the sequence.
Once I added the V1 CSP in FM5, I again had issues with grinding when running simulation using the paddles. When I added the TH8A shifter I didn’t change the DZ settings. So tonight I ran simulation on a couple of cars that always seem to grind the gear box and noticed there was none! I also noticed that I am more in sync with the TH8A than with the paddles. There is that technique thing for me again… I think the long throw results in defined time in N and thus more natural to sequence clutch engage / disengage resulting in less chance to grind.
