A lot can be said about FM7`s car-homologation, it is shure well meant but not done with too much skill.
As an old car-guy the classic cars are the main reason why I`ve bought this game, and there is a lot of them in this game. A lot of old US iron too, but for some reason they are divided into
some strange categories and by that separated from eachother. This could still have been a good idea if we were given a choise on wicth category to put a certain car into but we have not.
Another sad thing here is that while all of the involved car-models are in the game, the historic TransAm-series is not included as a category. How is that possible for a US-based team? Shame on you.
You can race US iron cars together in free play mode by creating multiple buckets as a workaround (i.e. set up one bucket for each division that those cars appear in). Or use other criteria like country, rear wheel drive, model year, etc. You might not even need to create multiple buckets if you can find the right set of restrictions to limit the race to the cars you want.
Exactly what I’ve done. While it’s tedious compared to just having a said trans am category, it works out well if you take some time and put together some freeplay options. I’ve done many classic muscle combinations and the best part is that it can be saved so you don’t have to keep going back n forth with the options each time you play the game.
Good suggestion ITPRO75 and yes sTReetBurner09 the feeplayoptions opens up for some compromising but remember the old iron divided into several different categories. We have some in classic muscle, some in historic roadracing, (who came up with that category?) and a lot of them are locked away as nostalgic drag-racers. Guess they had to fill up that category with something.
The closest I have came to a historic transam-setup is a setup with a mix of historic roadracers vs vintage sport compacts.
