Choose transmission type and gears for each car build

We need a decently modeled range of automatic transmissions and a per car transmission setup. Meaning, some cars have automatic some manual some obviously hydromatic (which is actually defined by upgrades, currently). No more switching between transmission types through the difficulty settings. For a game that respects a lot of mechanical engineering details this almost breaks the game. It’s a tall order to ask a heavy hitting developer to change a fundamental game mechanic but it’s desperately needed to actually fix the game. Let me choose a transmission type for every build, then don’t force me to use more gears than I need just to be able to have an adjustable tier part. Let me choose the amount of gears I want to use. It’s a critical tuning need in order to create a naturally aspirated, direct drive, road course car. Otherwise I’m often just setting every gear above 4th@1:0 to the same ratio to make every gear above 4 redundant. It’s not necessary to have a wide range of gears for muscle cars, rally/derby etc… It’s only necessary for cars that are designed to go much faster than 150mph. If you could kindly add a properly modeled range of automatic transmissions, fluid drive mechanics or torque converter physics, it would vastly improve the game experience especially since you offer a wide range of racing events. This is especially crucial for drag racing gameplay. With this addition of physicalized automatic transmissions comes user definable stall performance. A racing tier transmission installation would include the ability to adjust stall and launch parameters. This is so we can sit at a stop without holding a brake and rev engine to the power band but just below stall and launch when green lit by simply flooring the accelerator. There is a way to adjust the centrifugal torque multiplier as well as a tuning parameter specific to this racing style. It’s also of benefit to have 3 speed automatic transmission for heavy cars built for dirt tracks… there’s actually a huge range of capabilities without having to just create these weird hacks and workarounds. I’ve built cars that NEED automatic transmission to function properly so, I just switch game settings to automatic and back to manual with clutch for my road course muscle. The current model of automatic transmissions are over simplified. Not really a true automatic but, just automatic shifting of manual transmission. It’s a huge sinking feeling and a point of contention. It’s the ONLY thing I beg Playground to change as an imperative! It’s a must. I can live with all the other gaps but not this.

I like the idea, lots of my vintage builds I utilize the real gear ratios while tuning. It’d be nice to not have to leave the top 3-4 gears the same, and then there’s dealing with the gear whine that the race transmission introduces :skull_and_crossbones:
