Chicken Dinner Achievement Removal

If we are being realistic here 1 in a 1000 chance that you have of winning Eliminator. Any regular person who works for a living cannot simply win this. I think any achievements relating to the eliminator should be scrapped.

Never in a million years am I going to win this game mode and I’m pretty sure thousands of others won’t either.

Not being defeatist, being realistic about the chances.

i work for a living and im far from being one of the best in this game but i still managed to get the achievement in FH4 for winnig an eliminator with the mini cooper, so anythings possible

sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you dont. some days youre the dog, some days youre the fire hydrant. if you do enough of them than surely youll win a few.

achievements are supposed to be just that. an achievement.

and it certainly would be. just like getting level99 in diablo 2 remake

cant go saying ‘im never going to get this achievement. remove it so ive got an easier path to 1000’
if 1000g means that much then your priorities are wrong tbh

people care about achievements? I literally play this game how I want to play it and don’t care about any of the achievements. I still wished there wasn’t an achievement list so those annoying pop ups never happened.

If you don’t like the notifications you can disable them at the console (or Windows) level.

Hehe. I had to turn it off due to broken Game Bar causing stalls

i actually got close a few hours ago. i got 5th and was about 500ft behind 1st who just barely got it.

I 100% agree. Achievements like this ruin the actual fun of the game. I’ve sunk close to 15 hours into Eliminator yet and haven’t gotten “lucky” because lets be honest, it’s 90% luck, especially on that final run. Dialing this down to be in the top 5 or even 3 would be more realistic and let people who actually enjoy the game mode play it because they actually want to and stop forcing people who hate the game mode to keep playing it for that last achievement to make it a 100%.

Considering how gentle the other cheevos are, I don’t see why winning a head-to-head wouldn’t be enough. Every other cheevo is fairly laid back, this one should be, too.

I only play Eliminator for the achievements. As soon as I got them in fh4 I never touched it again. It’ll be the same this time.

Luck definitely plays a part but there are strategies to increase your chances.

Honestly, for a game that’s trying to reach such a wide audience, this achievement is annoying. I can get every other achievement without this kind of stress. If you want to reward people for their first win, give them an accolade that rewards a hard to find legendary, but I HATE pvp, and this is the single only achievement that requires me to win a pvp.

That’s why it’s called an achievement. It’s not called “you can get me just casually playing through the game”.
I personally dislike all the “congratz, you completed tutorial” so called achievements unless you get it after completing difficult optional part of tutorial.

It’s mainly luck rather than judgement but I won the Eliminator yesterday with a level 3 car after about ten attempts using the same technique I used in FH4:

  1. Choose somewhere remote to spawn and avoid other players so you don’t get challenged - you must get to the showdown.
  2. Don’t worry about grabbing a high level car, just try to get something level 3 or better.
  3. Work out in which direction the final target is likely to be - if the safe zone circle ends up on the west of the map, the target will almost certainly be to the east for example. Time it so that you are heading flat out in that direction and exit the safe zone just as the final showdown counter ends.
  4. Go in a straight line towards the target, don’t worry about using roads, just avoid obstacles that stop you dead. You can’t afford to crash.

Not crashing is the key. Most people seem to be unable to keep a high speed up through a forest without being stopped by a tree at least once. This is the skill you need to practice. In my experience if you can average 100mph or so and not crash once, you’ll win or be very close. You need luck but I find the Eliminator is the easiest online mode to win. I get destroyed in normal online races and Playground Games events. Plus if you thing this achievement is hard, wait until you try to get the downloads needed for the setup/livery/photo achievements.

Whether it’s luck or not, I managed to win the Eliminator on my second attempt (think it took me 30+ attempts in FH4)…it was a combination of:

  • My usual strategy for the final showdown of seeing which side of the circle everybody is on and then deliberately positioning myself on the opposite side…50-50 chance I am right and, if I am, it gives me an advantage;

  • The much faster car in 2nd place rapidly closing me down before running into a tree or other such immovable object…on the Mini-map they just stopped

A lot of it is luck but a lot is also strategy

I’d hate to see your thoughts on the FH4 Eliminator Title Update achievement list.

I’m sorry guys, but do we need to change the name from “Achievement” to “Participation”??

I also work for a living and have won 4 times.

Working hours, or time played in general, are not relevant to your chances of winning.

I heard a report that there had been about 24mil FH4 players last year, assume it got up to at least 24.5mil…
Achievements show 16.6% of players have played Eliminator at least once, lets say that’s about 4mil.
Achievements also show 0.93% of players have won an Eliminator in FH4. = approx 230,000 players.
That’s like a better than 1 in 20 of winning (about 1 in 17).
BUT you are right that thousands haven’t won, in fact millions have played it and not won.

There’s definitely some things where you can apply skill (learn the dense drop zones, always drive manual for the power control uphill x-country driving, use trees to avoid opponents and the ability to hide on the map if idle etc), but I wont deny there’s definitely some luck involved as well.
I looked at my stats for FH4; 111 Eliminators played, just 7 wins (which is 1 in 16 as a win, which makes me depressingly close to 1 in 17 races a win lol hate being average).
The achievements tell me that I played at least a full 50 games before I had a win though - either I sucked (learning how to “eliminate”) early on, or luck really hated me.

There’s definitely other achievements which are harder to get, but I get that Eliminator isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

What’s the point of having achievements if they are easily achievable?

I mean that’s the whole point of it, both economically (the game wants you to spend hours on it with stupid/impossible tasks) and both morally (they are supposed to be challenges, from easy to insanely hard)…if you work for a living then you shouldn’t expect to reach the top ranks of an online game, which requires dedication, almost like a job (streamers/pro gamers, etc.).

I mean, I don’t care for achievements but I also understand that they need to pose some sort of challenge, and you can’t expect to excel in every one of them…you can’t expect to be the master drifter and the master rally driver, especially not after one fr’kin week that the game is on :'D

Please stop whining about this bullcrap, this game is already too inclusive and too easy, I was in endgame after 3 days and don’t know what the hell to do there xD
