THe game is based in Australia, Turn 10 are in the USA and Playground are in the UK. Which means they have to model the cars they have to hand. So it’s far more likely they would keep in game cars that are already present, so they can include more cars from Oz like the sandman or maloo as they are Oz Hero cars.
Also it’s a badge, the car is still in, so i’m not that bothered. Hell i don’t even car when the euro version of a car has US light panels. Cos it’s still in the game and it makes them unique!
The current Series II VF is the closest to Super Sport (the Super Sport is actually a hybrid of the Commodore SS and the HSV Clubsport) - where is the harm in having it as the Chevy version.
They can easily get what ever car they can as long as the licensing goes to plan for turn10 or playground games. Mabey they couldn’t get the license for the Holden version and only the super sport.
You would have thought they could have used the 14 HSV dashboard in the regular SS, wouldn’t be too hard to source since the HSV is sold as a Vauxhall in the UK. What does bother me is that we are seeing very similar versions of cars, 500/695, '12 GT-R/17 GT-R, '14 HSV/SS, which I would love if FH3 had 500 cars, instead of cutting down FM6s 450ish road cars into 350+ while adding new stuff.
This gets quoted too much. There’s more to it than that. Some of it is simply that they will be used as filler for DLC packs or limited resources required them to get the axe based on the judgement of management.
It’s common knowledge that licensing issues are the reason cars disappear from the franchise. It’s been going on for years. Hence some cars in Forza 3 or 4, not being in 5 or 6 or Horizon. When they get a car’s license for inclusion in the game, it’s usually for a fixed term or specific game. Then it has to be re-applied for on subsequent games and it doesn’t always work out. Dan G has said this many many times.
At least the 2014 Gen F HSV GTS has already been announced which is the more aggressive looking LSA powered version.
Whilst I’d have preferred the Holden Commodore version, we won’t be without a Holden badged Gen F saloon. The SS will be in there as it was already rendered for Horizon 2 and is easier to add to the game.
