I can’t be the only one who’s quite bothered by the lack of SS badges on the game’s Chevys, right? I mean, the Chevelle and El Camino front ends just look weird without them. Maybe if we could completely debadge them to at least make it look intentional, but full badging minus the SS just looks silly.
Or at the very least can we get a proper answer as to exactly why they’re gone, and if there’s a chance they’ll ever make a return? And I’m not buying that GM made you guys drop the SS badge, but not Need For Speed

I’m honestly not bothered by it. I would be the one to remove them in the real world as well. I dislike emblems on cars, but that’s my personal taste.
No reason was ever given, but rumor is because of the SS being similar to a certain group from a certain country during WWII.

If “WW2” was the issue, then “censor” the cars for that specific country/region much like Wolfenstein has different versions. The fake-offended folks don’t play this game.
They will say on here it was Chevy’s decision (“global naming strategy” --except that’s for spelling out SuperSport and not the badges), however games have come out after Forza 6 which had the SS badges intact (CSR Racing 2, Nascar Heat Evolution), so MS/Turn10 made the call to inject P.C. nonsense to this franchise. Apparently some Holden cars are “censored” too?
What is bothersome are the historic cars, how do you edit history like that?

How do they edit history like that? Take a look at the very thing I just mentioned. In Germany, Wolfenstein, is heavily censored. Some parts totally redone to omit the signs of the military of their nation from that time period.
I could go into more detail about that, but, it being the taboo subject it is, I shall not do it.
The so-called fake offended people you mention, honestly is more an inappropriate dig more than a valid counterpoint but I digress.
I do speak from experience however, but also due to forum rules, I won’t discuss said experience, I will just say the rumor around why SS no longer appears on cars, has a lot of validity to it.
Anyways, it is a very minor detail, one you wouldn’t really be paying attention to in the heat of a race anyway
