Great handling with stability off and sim steering on. Has a lot of grip and still fast. Post your opinion please.
I checked this out. It’s drivable. Personally, I find the suspension is a bit stiff, the gearing is terrible, ( I never ever use first gear after the start of a race except for a couple of tight hairpins), and it wants to kick the rear out on acceleration. The braking is too low, but that’s just me personally, I need much higher pressure due to my set up. Overall though, it’s not a bad tune. I was able to get within a second of my own tune once I got used to how it handled.
I tried to keep the kick out down by adjusting the diff acceleration but I use traction control so this may be a reason that it’s not an issue for me. I should have stated before hand what assist I use and don’t. The brake pressure is low to prevent lockup do to heavy braking. I never want my wheels to stop rolling in a race.
I figured you probably had TCS on. I don’t use any assists, hence the tendency to kick out on corner exit. Once I knew the tendency of the car, a little throttle control was all that was needed to keep the rear nicely planted. I probably shouldn’t have said the gearing was terrible, it’s just not how I would normally set it up. We all have our own likes. Like I stated, I got pretty decent times with it, so it definitely is adequate. The braking is purely due to my clubsport pedals. When I had the MS wheel, I ran the pressure at about 80. With the clubsport’s, I need to run it at 160 to get effective braking. Simply a matter of different controller input, and nothing to do with your tune.
Some cars have wider power bands, this Porsche being one of them. As long as when you flip the telemetry open you’re on the power, all’s good
I’ll add this to tunes to try.
The gears are fine. It’s on the power the whole time, and the power band is wide enough to use second in tight corners. However, it’s somewhat tight on entry and feels as if some downforce was taken off. I managed to get mid 42s around Silverstone with it, but I’ve gotten low 41s in my own that doesn’t feel drastically different.
