Took a quick look at a first-pass gearing setup (left default FD)… 2.62 // 4.70 / 3.10 / 1.95 / 1.35 / 1.10 / 0.95

1/4-mile, 4 gears, 158 mph
1/2-mile, 5 gears, 191 mph
1-mile, 6 gears, 220 mph

Tested at Test Track Airfield.

I will give it a look when I get home from work, I prefer 2-3 gears in the 1/4. I use tire size and what I have learned with real world trans gearing. Ideally a power glide transmission is the way to go, but you need a final drive of around 1.71 or lower and the lowest in forza is 2.20. If i can get anything solid I will throw it up here.

*** I was thinking backwards when I wrote that. With a powerglide, the final it gonna be crazy tall, in the 4.50-5.something. Then 1st will be 1.60-1.70ish and second will be 1.00-1.10ish. Then 3rd and 4th as needed. ***

I am guessing this ends up S class, yes? It’s going to be a heavy car and for some reason Dodge is relatively slow in this game which is pretty irritating as a Mopar guy.

I prefer 3 gears, yet, felt weird from an acceleration standpoint so went with 4 for a quick tune. Can certainly revisit.

An FD lower than 2.20 would be ideal, yet…not available as you pointed out.

Yes, S782…you can do an S781 with out the Sport Cage and reduce 54 lbs, yet, accel stat looks worse.

Alrighty. I’ve given it a good try. I haven’t actually ran it for time, can’t join a lobby. This is something that is a HUGE problem with forza!! Absolutely no way to accurately test and tune for drag without actually being in multiplayer. Soooo dumb!! From what I can tell with eyeballing it on the test track, looks like about a 9.1- 9.3 or so in the the 1/4 at 155-160mph. Again, just an eyeball.

My build is as follows,
Engine - all race EXCEPT oil cooler. This adds 40 lbs and only 8 hp

Platform/handling - all race EXCEPT stock chassis, pretty solid car as is and the upgrades here just add weight

Drive train - all race

Tires/rims - drag, full width rear. Weld Alumistar 2.0, stock rim size

No aero

Tune is as follows,
Air pressure
47.5
31.0

This is a ballpark, untested on the track for real tune. Just ran a few on the test track in test drive. I’m sure there’s some faster but this is a heavy, big box of a car. Theres only so much that you can pull out of it unfortunately.

Hopefully that helps. And PRKid, yours is prolly just as fast. All that info I sent you was kinda useless for this car. There a few cars that are like that. Some just don’t want to cooperate! I love the Hellcat in real life, there a couple cruising around in my town. Sweet cars!! In forza, kinda disappointing.

This gearing is no good. Was able to actually run some online and it has a really bad launch. Maybe knock the final up a little bit, I usually try .05 at a time as I increase. Doing that might make it necessary to make 3rd a bit lower. I shoot for hitting redline right at or just after the 1/4 mark. I didn’t have much time to mess with it, my best run was a 9.2 which is pretty slow for S class.

Try running no cage no oil cooler no intercooler. Ran a 8.992 w a 3 speed gear setup. Should have more in it

Will be revisiting my gearing as well.

I’ll start my build now. Have one for the “street.” I’ll let you know what it’s capable of.

Here’s my first test and tune session. Going to make a few adjustments and bring her back out one more time tonight.

I messed with the gearing this morning before work for a little bit, this time I tried opposite ends of the spectrum. Off the top of my head, at work and didn’t write it all down before I left, I started with a 4.65 final, I believe settled on 1.75 1st, 1.05 2nd, .78 3rd and if I’m remembering right a .50 4th, i think. Again trying to remember. I got to a consistant 9.1 without cluth, had one 9.0.

Full throttle launch manual w clutch. I’m at s791 pi 1004 hp and 3430 lbs.

I think I hit four 9.026 in a row then a 8.992. I didn’t really try with intercooler, oil cooler, or more cage

And for the record I just so happen to like big heavy cars:…:speak_no_evil:

@ Dyno Don,

For whatever reason, cannot come up with these stats combo!! I can get close to S791 and/or 3430 lbs, yet, not both…

Thoughts? Thanks!

PRKid
p.s. Just saw your change with the added Intercooler which have in my build as well. I think it certainly helps, yet, having a hard time getting the right set of gears.

Hellcat tune

8.909 Hellcat

8.876 w tcs on and 4 speed

Your looking for a bit of spin on launch, I usually blip the throttle on 1 to achieve that.

I took the rear spoiler off. Lightest rims, no upsizing rims. No cage. Race everything besides that, except for the oil cooler

I’ll try to link in a replay of a run, and the tune here n a few .

I definitely differ to you with the drag tuning, along with my laziness when it comes to the clutch, lol. Dont get me wrong, I do love e the big full bodied cars! I understand why he did it, but I’m one of the many that is disappointed that Big Chief when to that pro mod kit car of a “firebird” and not a full bodied car like the Crow was, kinda. And let us not forget the most important thing in all of this, DRAG LIVES MATTER!!

Indeed my friend, give those gears a try see what u can come up with.
