Cars not working properly after wrecks or a few minutes of driving

When I start the game everything is working fine the cars are driving perfect but after a few minutes of driving or a wreck at high speeds the cars will lose power and all functionality basically. It will red line almost instantly and not allow me to accelerate correctly plus the traction feels wrong. I’ve tested this on both my ps5 controller and g29 se wheel with the same results. I’ve also had no problems with this until about 5 days ago, this happens in free roam and in races. If I fast travel after the cars mess up it fixes it for a few minutes and then goes right back to how it was it’s very frustrating and is making the game unplayable.

Hi @TidierPine20504 . Forza Horizon 5 supports multiple damage models.
Go to the settings and change the damage model from simulation to cosmetic.
Simulation damage means that your car will be broken (gearbox trouble, blown engine, damaged aerodynamic parts, etc) and all of this will effect your car’s performance.
Cosmetic damage will only change the look of your car and won’t have any effects on your car’s performance.
This is not a bug, it’s an in game setting that you can change.
Thank you for reading. :slightly_smiling_face:

This happens when driving normally without a crash and shifting correctly plus I haven’t changed any settings since my first setting tweaks but I’ll double check when I get on thanks for reaching out
