The “in-car-sound” in cockpit view starts unnaturally echoing and vibrating during long full throttle streches (car is not hitting the limiter!!)
It is hitting the limiter - you’re just not hearing it the way you do IRL.
Sorry, no! I have tracks were i hit the limitter. The sound i completely different. And when i compare the sound from Forza 7, the sound overall is better and there is no echoing, like in Forza 8. Drive the E30 on a long state (Döttinger Höhe for example, hold it at 6000rpm) and put your headset on. Then you can hear it!
I just tested this car and I know what the issue is. It’s not an issue that has to do with hitting the rev limiter but rather the low quality recording and sampling of the car.
As your revs climb and you’re about to redline the car notes sound loopy, droney, and robotic. It’s headache inducing and makes you sleepy at the same time.
They had the same issue with the LFA but corrected it with a high quality sample.
Same issue with many cars in the game as if the revs are stuck in a loop - 720S for example - and the slower your revs are climbing the more you’ll notice it.
They will ultimately correct and improve it. I hope they do. I already reported this car many months ago with the loopy and robotic sounding revs, especially near redline.
So to clarify it as a “car not hitting rev limiter” is a bit misleading. It does hit the limiter but doesn’t quite sound like it because of the dull and robotic/droney sounding sample.
I can‘t believe it! The E30 Sound is repaired. I drove it last night and it sounded so amazing. Thank you for repairing it. This is how it should sound. For me this topic can be closed.
I don’t think so. It’s the same as it was last month and the month before that. I’m driving it upgraded though. Let me also drive it stock and report back.
i have a similar problem. With many cars but this one is the worst. 1991 BMW M3. the engine sound is too low in 1st person view. DEVs pls FIX! Engine sound in 1st person view in FM is a big problem.
Like phone game…
This is an ongoing issue in the game. I dunno what’s stopping them from improving the mix. The cockpit and first person sounds do not appear to have 5.1/7.1 mixing otherwise you’d hear sounds coming out of the right channels and loud as well as detailed enough to reach out from your speakers and grab your throat!
Sadly only a very small handful of cars have proper surround sound mixing - just listen to the Exorcist in cockpit and then listen to a 21’ 911 GT3 RS or R35 Skyline, there’s no punch or dynamic range to the sound.
Just continue to report the cars individually, me lads. The more votes the more likely it is to get fixed. People really need to be made aware that there are threads here and require votes apparently for the devs to take an issue seriously.
I have the same issue. It did sound fine a few patches ago. Didn’t play for a while and when I got back to the game this car sadly was undrivable due to the low sound inside the car.
It’s fine for 3rd person. But 1st person I hear the wind noise louder than the engine at higher speeds…
Correct, they seem to be upsetting car sound samples that are half decent. The same happenned with the Integra Type R, as it sounds really quiet in cockpit view. A lot of cars in the game have this issue where they sound flat, echoey, and reverby as if stuck in some kind of software-induced loop. It’s not organic and real enough, sounds too synthesised. All you hear is mostly road noise and the sound of rushing air. The engine lacks grunt and power.
Another example is the '05 NSX, it now sounds queiter and seems to have lost some detail. Same for Supra RZ, it’s got a flat and rumbly BMW M4-like note with no turbo sound even though in the game you’d have it maxed out to 1000+ HP, still no real turbo sound or the fierce 2JZ higih-pitched, ear-splitting scream it produces IRL. The E30 M3 was passable before it got updated and the Supra RZ was nearly perfect with full upgrades IMO before it got updated in March.
What a letdown. They clearly are not doing their research or putting in enough work to nail the individual soul and character of each car.
