In d-c class, take any low pi car, slap race tyre, use soft compound.
In b-a class take any light car (around 1000kg), make it RWD if it’s not, slap Forza aero or wide body kit, take one of many op engine swaps.
I did some a class racing in RWD swapped s209 subbie, and it was on par with meta (V8 swap, wide body+stock wing on sport tyres min max tyre width), also this week spotlight Audi is also decent fast RWD swapped, with wide body and V6 swap, tho for both cars u need lvl 50 to make them completive in a class.
Like the 209 definitely be giving that one a spin.
I have a Ginetta jr in D and A classes respectively. Unless the track has long straights they do quite well.
For D Class I used the 86 Escort upgraded to D400
For B class, a well tuned Jaguar D type or E type works very well. If you’re looking for a fun A class car, the C5 Z06, Mercedes SLS AMG, C7 stingray, and most of the porsche models have widebody kits, so they’re especially useful for grip/balanced builds.
The way I choose cars is to go to the following 3 tracks in Rivals:
- Catalunya National
- Indianapolis GP
- Le Mans Old Mulsanne
See what the top cars are on the boards there, download a few tunes and find the car that I feel most comfortable with (which isn’t necessarily the fastest all the time, but often can be).
If you have cars that are good on these tracks, you essentially have cars that can be good on almost any track in the game, even if specific track layouts may have superior alternatives.
However, it’s worth considering that a race environment is different to Rivals in that you have fuel, tyre wear, opposing cars, weather etc. to contend with. That’s why it’s important to find cars that you can comfortably drive reasonably quickly for multiple laps, rather than that one car that gives you the perfect lap once.
