Car suggestions for B Class Open MP

,

Looking for hidden gems you may have discovered. Anything considered obviously must be reasonably competitive.

I normally use the Honda S2000, Clio V6, Toyota AE86 '85 and Nissan 370Z '19.

Recently ran an MR2 which was decent.

I have a Radical that can run in B Class. It has a 7 handling and struggles to reach 100mph.

Summoning @Snooty, the mad scientist of turboless builds.

He’s usually got some crazy things.

It’s not really a “hidden gem,” but the M1 absolutely slaps. Very competitive.

Where’s that useful? Brands Indy/Mid Ohio short/Lime Rock?

Are we speaking short races with race tires?
Then, there aren’t any “hidden gems” left anymore.
There are very good, but less frequently used cars like:

Lamborghini Miura
Basically all RWD JDM that have either the Civic or Silvia swap - personal favourite is the '23 Nissan Z
Abarth 124
'65 Ford Mustang Coupe which is arguably the best Classic Muscle in this rather average car category

Once we are speaking street/sport tires builds for medium races it gets interesting:

Jaguar D-Type and Auto Union Type D for speed tracks
Porsche 924 GTS widebody & '17 Nissan GTR R35 widebody for handling tracks
Shelby Daytona, Jaguar E-Type & Aston Martin DBS as strong alrounder.
Many more that only work below race tires.

Yep it’s going to be Short races on slicks.

Love the Abarth 124 and '65 Mustang Coupe.

Need a database of everything that can have the 3.7 V6 that stays in B.

I think there’s a few hidden gems left. Just this morning I beat my PB around Cat Nat in a Datsun Convertible (C class)

I figure we have 6 months left in this game before they pull the plug so may as well make the most of it.

73 Ford Falcon XB a bit of a sleeper. For some reason the stock engine V8 is super light and the car itself gets super light with weight reduction. It’s weak on top end, but it’s combination of grip and acceleration is really good in B class. Not meta, but definitely a car that can the others a serious run for their money.

Keep em coming folks. I’m going to build and tune the ones mentioned so far.

Also rebuild my Abarth 124 and give the 240SX another go - that one always feels like it should be better. It has loads of build options. I barely see it online.

I have an old video where I include the build and tune of the Falcon. Though that tune is a bit outdated since i make heavy use of suspension geometry now. Haven’t done open class in a long while.
