I have noticed recently that when using wheel The car is much slower just going in a straight line It is almost like the car is on a different gearing profile with less torque… or driving with some handbrake on
The speed difference fluctuates but it’s (approx) on A class 10mph… on S1 15mph and S2 20mph
I am using the following wheel setup
Fanatec GT DD Pro 8NM
Fanatec Formula V2.5 X
Fanatec CSL Pedals
I have checked the pedals to make sure the brakes/pedals are set up correctly… the fanatec control panel confirms that the brakes are fully off when my foot is off the pedals…
I don’t think it’s a calibration issue as it goes back to normal when restarting the wheel… if its not calibrating correctly then it would be constantly in a deficit of the controller…
I’ve been using the Fanatec setup for 18 months and just noticed this after the Series 31 update… Maybe it was there before… I’ve posted trial times in the top 250… so if it was not calibrated properly then it would be impossible to post such time with a 10-20 mph deficit or maybe Im the fastest player in Forza…
I’ve been really struggling to catch drivatars this week, with cars that I normally win with pretty easily. As a test, I took one of my favorites and upgraded only the engine to the maximum for its class (B, in this case). I was passed by every single drivatar before the first turn, and could place no higher than 3rd after a couple of hours testing.
I am using a wheel. I don’t have a controller (I’m on a PC) so I haven’t tried comparing the wheel to one, but I have tried it on keyboard. The top speed doesn’t seem affected, but the acceleration sure seems slower on the wheel than on keyboard. Not sure if it’s always been that way. I’m going to play around with it some more later today.
