Car Models

Part of the issue is even when you change the rim size, the outer diameter stays exactly the same. We should have the ability to change the tire size as well as the rim size. Then maybe the cars will look more normal when lowered (or the darn gear adjustment screen will become more accurate).

It’s weird rereading this thread because this was back when we were infiltrated by the Discord members.

Hi,

A lot of Ferrari models are also detailed incorrectly. The 575M, 360S, and F355 for example. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to import an almost 20-year model into a game that talks about attention to detail. I see a lot of people mentioning that the majority won’t bat an eye about inaccurate models… and that is true. However, a lot of people have grown up with Forza, and have made them the people they are today. They are now able to buy the cars they fell in love with and it sucks to see how inaccurate your own car is in the game that made you want that. Neglecting the fans who were there from the early days really is a kick in the stomach. This isn’t PG’s fault but Turn 10 must be held accountable. It would be a huge step if our voices are heard. By continuing to raise awareness, you are helping us along the way.

We should have a lot of abilities if the developers knew anything about cars! The quality of the car reproduction doesn’t bother me half as much as stuff like your tire and wheel size issue.

And what gets me even more is the changing of the exhaust system doesn’t make any changes to the engine sound, or any cosmetic changes to (at the very least) the exhaust tips at the rear.

If PGG had 10% more imagination in the development of the game, the game could easily be 40 to 60% better.

Or the fact that a cam change does nothing to the idle AT ALL, yet magically produces more HP (yet barely more torque).

CHEVY 454 SS into the game PLEASEEEE!!!
Some drag racing against the SVT Lightning would be great

Cam change on most cars produces less hp gain than exhaust changes. I’m sure whoever came up with those algorithms never worked on a real engine.

Actually, calculations to derive the torque for any given engine scenario would be rather complicated. Generating the hp figures for any given combination is a rather simple algorithm easily applied to all engines:

The equation to calculate horsepower is simple: Horsepower = Torque x RPM / 5,252.

Once torque is determined “through proper algorithms”, apply the hp equation and your done.

Depends on the cam profile, a ton of factors goes into what a cam will yield in HP/Torque/RPM. Lift/Duration/Lobe Separation all play an equal part. Thumper Cams will typically net equal HP/Torque gains on a “average” build. We get 3 options with no descriptors at all, No concept of the cam profile provided, it just “works” in game…My statement was about how the cam change doesn’t even change the idle at all. With gains like they provide in game, they should not sound like a stock cam, at all.

Edit: I forget to add deg. from center. Some cams are designed to be plus or minus 4 deg.

Yes you’re right absolutely. I was just adding the exhaust doesn’t change anything either. Nothing, in fact, done to the engine, changes anything about the sound. It’s one of the poorest aspects of the game.

Hey, the realism could be worse.

“HUH?!?!” Misses checkpoint

I love the things the kids call realistic in these “fantasy” video games. I love the “realism” of being able to drive straight up the side of a volcano, in the snow, in a propose built race car, with racing tires. Man thats realistic!

If these games were actually realistic, 90% or more of the players wouldn’t survive the first lap of any race.

Ha, they wouldn’t even play, and the game would die…lol. Been through that scenario, Motor City Online was “too complicated” for the non-car person. Had to actually build the car. And you could actually race for pink slips, but too many players lost their first car and didn’t know how to recover. Penniless and no car…lol.

I don’t need the physics to be realistic, I just want the car models to be on par with at the very very least even X360 days Forza rivals

Yeah, I don’t want total realism. I would like more realism in the car modeling and in the car modifications. I run with damage on cosmetic only. I want the car building and painting. The rest is, well, rest and relaxation.

And them there’s the frustrations of dealing with the forum stuff. :innocent::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::crazy_face: @NeubaumTurk_HK know what I mean?

I heard that the new Forza Motorsport is on a new ForzaTech engine built from scratch. So yeah, I agree that all the cars mentioned REALLY NEED to fully RESCAN those cars from the ground up to their accurate model states in the new Xbox Series generation ForzaTech. I realized why those car models are taken from previous Forza games from the original Xbox as well as the X360 era, then upscaled those ugly shaped models in the Xbox One/PC era. They better replace those outdated car models that are 17 years old already.

I mean, it took me a few months to realize how they looked like comparing to the ones seen in real life. The devs need to take notes on rescanning cars to consider Forza as “the most technically advanced racing game ever.”

I really hope for updated models for these cars in the upcoming Forza Motorsport (with added missing ForzaVista features if possible).

Otherwise the game would look bad in comparisons with Gran Turismo 7…

Honestly, I don’t even need Forzavista for all cars, FM4 did great with just Autovista for a handful of cars. At the same time, if they’re capable of modelling engine bays and trunks for more cars, on top of adding interior and engine visual customisation, which they should be now, I’d welcome that with open arms.
And then even if they won’t change the car models and we’ll see the all glorious FM1 Silvia S15 fully upscaled together with other deformed models, people will STILL say FM2023 looks better than its rivals.

And somehow, modders that work within many other games can make far more accurate cars, with all the details, and do so for free (some of them…lol). I miss the days of Virtua_LM’s cars for rFactor and EA’s F1 - 1999-02…
