one of my issues was that the car doesn’t seem to stick well. The weight balance is hard to get right so it feels like weight transfer was moving the car around too much?
The file is shared but do you have any ideas as I am going to continue working on it for a bit and make the new tune the open source if Jez allows it of course
I have this same issue on a couple of cars and I can’t seem to shake it off for some reason. I tried many things with no success…I am sure it’s the combo of settings. I have had the issue at D, A, and S class for a couple of specific cars. In my case it’s light a “soft” sliding to side motion, especially after turning, yet also, starting to turn.
If the car has bodyroll try increasing both arbs. If it seems stiff and slides sideways try softening both arbs. This is assuming you are happy with the front to rear balance.
It’s the roll bars and/or the bump. Move the bump up .5 on both and don’t be afraid to run 40/40 roll bars (or 1/1 for that matter). Sometimes the game doesn’t make sense so going 1/1 could also solve it.
I’ve had some great results from some harder springs. Would 1/1 therefore be more likely to work I.E soft arbs hard spring setup and the same theory for dampers. I always try and think of suspension travel as well so am I right in thinking in can run lower camber with hard springs?
Banging the arbs to 1/1 can stop sliding yes but doesnt do wonders for the cars responsiveness, its hard to help with the problem without knowing how its set up.
I spent 5-10min messing around with the clk gtr, just to see whats what as i hadnt built one yet. this can run 32s on le mans old, check this out and compare to your own tune, hopefully this may help.
Also i always run minimum bump, have always had best results doing so and know several top guys who do also.

this tune is not perfect but give it a try,to anyone just snooping lol… this tune is meant for a s class merc clk gtr for speed tracks 5.8grip if you want to build one.
@ General Swift – Interesting toe settings (+0.3 and -0.4 for F/R). Any comments as to why? (What I have read in the Forum indicates NO toe until last resort, and, if used, minimal ~+/-0.1) Thanks!
Nothing set in stone. Ive readed same things from the Elitetist on here about what you can and cant do. Then I got Top leaderboard open source tune thats did every thing wrong. The tune was very fast and handle amazing.
Aren’t you special. Not sure what elitist said NEVER use toe , but whatever. Reality is, it can be tuned to turn as quick without the toe. Toe does help especially in front and all wheel drive cars. In instances depending on track it is beneficial on a rwd car. Basically those toe settings make the rwd behave like an awd.
Nope I’m a terrible tuner and driver. I use settings that most likely wouldn’t work in RL so you know how bad that is. Don’t use math or calcs/formulas. I sit with the controller in my hand enter a trance and conjure up my settings. Similarly how I drive too.
Forum tells you no toe ay? well from my hotlaping experience in the last 6months i have found many of my cars have had better turn in and response by raising the front toe. anything from .1 to .4.
same with the rear,i usually test the rear from -0.5 to 0.2 and decide my final setting by feel and testing. Tuning guides help to get a rough idea and learn what setting do,but remember there is no set formular for tuning, and sometimes things work on here that would not in real life. mess around abit with your toe settings and you will see why i set it that way i think. I have always tuned by feel and lap times,i dont believe formulars or calculators can be better than tuning by feel and testing.
the CLK is at default set to-0.5 Rear Toe. I think if a car has that at default then its for a reason and it does work well with this car. I think he just added the .3 front toe for better turn in. Might be because of lack of front grip/weight and higher rear diff setting. Otherwise I think the rear holds great but you lose the sharpness in turn in. #understeer
I know the question was @ SWIFT but these were my observation when tuning PR.
Thanks! I have yet to tune the CLK…just leveraged your couple of tunes, lol… Yeah, when needed I usually add +0.1 (front toe) for better turn in, yet, will consider maybe more in the future if required.
