Car customization

Ah look at this, we now have a bunch of new mechanical upgrades coming to the game, and the dude-bros are still fuming about no wheel offset.

Q: FH4 Drift suspension “stances your car”. Does this include an automatic adjustment to the wheel offset of the car? Or is just lowering + steering angle.
A: Not automatic offset unless you equip an upgrade preset that has it. However, there will be a new wheel upgrade option called Track Width that offers several offsets you can select for front offset, rear, or both depending on car.

Q: On most road cars or just a select few?
A: A lot of cars - especially older cars with a narrow track that have more room to move wheels out than some modern cars with a nearly flush stance already. Example: '73 Escort RS, yes. '17 Ford Focus RS - no. We’ll reveal more about this cool new feature soon.

Damn, this is really cool! Only drawback is that it might be exclusive to FH4, this offset upgrade.

This feature will really improve wheels like BBS RE, Dymag, and of course the TE37.

Forza is really upping its game in advance of Horizon 4.

Forza is upping their game in general. Lot of this is coming to FM7 too and other stuff as well.

Something that came up in a Reddit thread that I would like to see are Engine downgrades. For example swapping the Hellcat engine for the 6.1 Hemi SRT8 engine or even the base 5.7 Hemi Engine, or swapping the F12’s V12 for 458 or 488 V8 engine so you can down-class the cars or recreate the base model since Forza always likes to use the top line models of cars. I see a lot of people asking for more “normal cars”, so being able to downgrade some cars to their base standard models would help some in that regard.

At the very least just keep the restrictor plate options from FM7.

I’d love the restrictor plate options to stay, however, with no homologation system in FH4, I feel they will have ditched it. Fingers crossed they haven’t though.

They told that Hot Rod Kits (blower hoods and chopped top) will be prepared for more cars than FH3.
I expect blower hoods to be added to 3rd gen Firebird and C3 Corvette.

Blower hoods should be an optional hood, not regulated to certain cars.

I really really really hope to stick a blower on some firebirds!

Also really hope we can have a good inch or two of over extended track width from the fenders. I love that look on some cars, wheels sticking out a bit from the wells.

From the recent livestream:
More than 30 new kits + offroad kits.

Liberty Walk McLaren 650S

Ladies and gentlemen,

welcome to 2018, where painting brake calipers seems to be an utterly absurd thing to do.

Down below you can see a picture of Playground Games ‘listening’ to this community feature request:

“There won’t be window decals!”

Are you kidding me?!

I love that customization continues to be expanded in Forza Horizon 4, devs if you see this could you add the missing GT-Wing option shown here?

Thank you so much.

Bit late to be asking now perhaps save this for Horizon 5 as they will be starting on that gave very shortly

Great that Volkswagen is finally back in the game. I just wish that since it’s held in the UK, maybe we could have the euro specs on the VW models. It’s been a real pain Always seeing the westmoreland frontgrille on the MK1 and no possibilty to get GTI rear lights on the MK2or a single lights grille up front. The Rallye Golf has also been sorta missing in the game for me. Also i remember that in FM4 or 3 you could put about 5 different motors in a MK2, all wich are real world swaps. (No V8 or V12) with the possibility to super- or turbocharge them. And as a VW fanboy, i must give credit to Black Panthaa what he was saying about the typical cars like the Opel Corsa B & C, maybe even a first gen renault Twingo for fun. would be awesome to boost these to 600HP and cruise the map with them.
Well, so much for my 2 cents… Don’t think that any of this will really be in the game, but one can only hope. Have a good one

As above, I believe it’s time we got an overhaul on the Forza visual customisation, it has remained largely unchanged since I started playing in Forza 3.

It’s time to add more options, the wide body’s and few extra wheel choices were nice, but nothing drastically different.

I think it’s time we saw more options for wheels, and adjustable track width(ie; change the wheel offsets to bring them further out from the car, not just make them wider)

Neon lights, more aftermarket bumpers, bonnets, boot lids etc

Big Country Labs wings for all cars, the Hoonigan Twerkstallion that has featured in the past was missing this wing even though in real life it is on the car

Maybe paintable roll cages, proper racing seats etc

I feel like I’m just scratching the surface, and I am highly doubtful it will happen, but if these things were to happen no one would bother buying “Need for
Speed” or any other racing game for that matter

Turn10, please if you’re reading, go play the newest “Need for speed” to get an
Idea of what I mean!

We have added a new Track Width upgrade option in Forza Horizon 4 for 150 or so cars.

The Twerkstallion in the game is exactly as it was when we sourced it for Horizon 3. It’s understandable, but not realistic, to expect us to update a real world car in game every time its owner updates it in real life (especially that car!) The cars we build are a “snapshot in time.”

There are a lot of options we know you’d like us to add, and we’d like to as well: Window decals, paintable brake calipers, multi-piece wheel painting to name a few of the most commonly requested features… But like everything we do, there are considerations that need to be made with priority, schedule, budget, technical risks, licensing issues, download size for updating cars etc. When you have many hundreds of cars, these challenges multiply. Just one new feature applied to even just 100 cars creates the potential for hundreds of new bugs to fix, for example.

We tackle them as we can - widebody kits, rally, and hot rod conversions in FH3 (as well as 30 new wheels). In FH4, we’re adding more widebody kits, new off-road conversions, new Track Width options (finally!), Drift Suspension upgrade with extreme steering angle and camber, and Drag tires (as well as an entirely updated suspension simulation that applies to all cars, making them feel much more connected to the road).

We are listening

OK, but IMO if you cant add custom color calipers they should be black as default, not red.
