so i got a gift of the Forsberg Z (or whatever it’s called) and as i already have one in my garage i went to gift it and got a message saying i couldn’t. no big deal, i just deleted it, but i was wondering what’s going on here. how is it someone was able to gift it to me in the first place yet i can’t do the same?
I don’t know whether it’s something specific to that car, but I re-gift most of the cars that I collect so it’s fine most of the time. I don’t collect many when it pops up but doubt that has anything to do with it.
The Forsberg z is a car pass car. The car pass cars can be gifted if they don’t sell at auction. Otherwise I get that message too.

OK, I see.
I was gifted that white BMW X5 suv with the BMW red/blue stripes and body kit a from the early days but says I have to purchase the VIP upgrade to even re-gift it out so it’s stuck in my garage (will remove if nothing else I can do with it). I have the car pass and everything but the VIP thing. So I technically can’t re-gift that car that I can see. I wonder if that car can be auctioned so if doesn’t sell I get the “gift” option to do as you say. I have two xjr-15 jag’s and can’t auction or gift the second one that I can tell, maybe as it’s a “loyalty car”?
EDIT/UPDATE: After playing around, my only option is to purchase VIP (probably no real benefit this late in game to get VIP) or remove from garage with the beforementioned X5… Sorry for the thread jack/carry on fella’s…
The Jag is a barn find car wich cannot be sold, deleted or gifted. You got the second one through completing a Forza Super Seven Challenge.
May be in a few month there will be an update where you can sell and buy the barn finds in the auction house or at least delete the ones you don’t want to own. I personally find it not that bad to have cars that are not deletable but would it be to much to ask if the game just checks the number of cars you own from that special piece. Is it so hard to add a filter where you can sell or delete a car only if you have more than one of that?

Thank you, Jogicat. That explains. In these cases, I leave one completely stock and then use the other to upgrade/tune and apply a realistic race livery as if my race version of the car.
@jogicat, I hope so because there’s a few of the barn finds that I would enjoy a second of.
@jrichter, I sold and extra x5 that I got from the auction house for the minimum so I would think that’s an option for you but I don’t know for sure. Tbh I think the option to gift these otherwise non-giftable cars from the auction house is an oversight if not an actual bug.

The BMW X5M FE is a great car for XP farming on the goliath blueprint race on Unbeatable zero Drivatar’s, Upgraded to X class, with the mastery maxed out can get around 60k xp for 1 lap.
I tend to sell gift cars in auction house if I already have the car even if it only gets a small amount every little helps as they say.

It won’t even let me in it until I pay $17 - IDK how it go to me in first place.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to drive it (This first time ever I didn’t VIP a forza anything). It’s saying $17.99 US for me to get VIP right now. Is the other mansion (I own all other houses), the daily superwheel spin, 2x credits and the three FE edition cars worth it this LATE in the game (what else am I missing? - I will probably continue to play daily until March in between Dying Light 2) I know I will buy the DLC’s so trying to figure out how to upgrade to VIP for the DLC’s, those 3 cars, any extra super wheel spins. I just went with Gamepass for FH5 and Halo Infinite this time as I wait for an XB1 for reasonable price to purchase (otherwise I would have bought the top of the line FH5 like I always do). To my surprise, my 3 year old laptop (i5-8g ram-N.GF.GTX1650 ssd) runs both these games flawlessly (FH5 bugs not included). I guess I need the $44 VIP upgrade to get all this including the future DLC’s?
I may just go up and get a Xbox series S this afternoon to give my poor laptop a rest (free up for Dying Light 2) until more series x’s become available (and I still have g920 laying around somewhere as I assume g29 won’t work on XB).
