Cannot download gift cars, unable to download credits either

Hi there turn 10, my gamertag is UGA Phoenix Mk2. I am just writing this topic to let you know that there is a serious bug with your forza motorsport 5 game and dlc. The bug I am talking about is not letting me download any gift cars that have been gifted to me by you. The error I am getting is this one :“Unable to download gift car, please try again at a later time so that this issue might be resolved”. I have been trying to download these gift cars since my first gift car on december 16th. It is now january 23rd and I have been gifted 5 additional cars since then. Please if you can provide a solution to this problem that would be helpful. I have been working very close with Xbox Customer Support and my contact inside Xbox has been speaking with 2 people by the name of Fred and Ian. Fred has gifted me 4.5 million credits so that I might be able to purchase the cars but that leads me to my next problem.

Every time I have been gifted credits it does not reflect in my current balance. I was gifted 3.3 million credits through forza rewards and I was gifted 4.5 million credits from Fred, but the credits arent showing up. I should have about 7.8 million credits but they arent showing up. If you can please provide me a solution to that problem as well that would be great. I will be emailing my contact in Xbox Customer Support tomorrow to see if I can find out if they have found a solution to my problem.

P.s. I will not be playing forza 5 until this bug is resolved. If it is not resolved as soon as possible aka within the next 8 days, I will be asking for a full refund of my game, vip membership, and my forza 5 car pass.

Also if there is anyone else on this forum who is having the same problem, please keep this thread active and maybe, just maybe, turn 10 will fix this or provide a solution.

These forums are not the best way to get a hold of Turn10. you will probably have better luck sending an email to forzafb@microsoft.com

I read thaat thread and it doesn’t help me at all. It doesnt address my concern, nothing. So if you have something else that might help please do not hesitate to post it on this forum post. Hopefully if more people post on here about the same problem I am having (I know there are other people because on the old forums, the topic i started about this issue was full of about 30 or so people who had the same problem as me) then maybe turn 10 will notice and give us an update.

I believe you had a thread on the old forums where I made a suggestion. Reboot your console by holding the power button and reboot your router. This will help if the issue is a connection issue. I suggest you try it.

I have already followed all the steps that have been set forth by the Xbox Customer Support team, one of which was the suggestion that you had made and Xbox had made as well. Though I do thank you for your suggestion. Through the steps that were suggested by Xbox, we have determined that it is not a connection issue nor a storage issue as I am able to download all other content offered by the different games.

I have two gifted cars from Forza rewards, an Audi RS7 and a Fiesta ST, but whenever I go to download them it says that an error has occurred when retrieving the gift and to try again later. It’s been doing this since I got the game 3 weeks ago. On top of that I never got my Forza Rewards credits after I redeemed them. Anyone know a workaround?

So far that I know of there is no work around. But you are the 7th person that I know of that is having the same problem as I am. Did you purchase the VIP Membership and the Car Pass as well?

No I have not purchased anything else yet. Just the base version of the game.

Well if you are already having problems trying to get the gift cars from forza rewards, then you will most likely have a problem trying to get the gift cars from say the vip pass and the forza 5 car pass.

Well since its a Microsoft product and its their bug that needs to be fixed, i would be asking Microsoft for a refund. But since Microsoft doesn’t do refunds, I have been told by various sources inside Xbox Customer Support (Tier 3, Supervisors, general Customer Support) that it will have to be refunded directly from the developer, aka, Turn 10, so I would be asking them for the refund, in the form of a check that I can deposit to my bank or credit to my Xbox Live Account. Its very obvious this was a bug that only affected a very small number of individuals, me included. As you can see from the previous posts before, someone else is having the same exact issues I am having. If they can give me a refund, i can use it for something else, like paying my phone bill or buying titanfall. The clock is ticking Turn 10, so please hurry up.

I am having the exact same issue! Very frustrating and even more when neither Microsoft or Turn10 are taking ownership of the issue. I have contacted Microsoft who verified that everything was good on their end and who game me $10 Microsoft credit as apology for the issue. I have also contacted Turn10 three times already and not a single response apart from their automated message.

I was really looking forward to this game but with this kind of support, or should I say lack of support… It;s really hard for me to recommend either Xbox or Forza because the lack of importance they give to their fans…

Yes I have been playing for a while now and well within the game to have to start from scratch… Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this? It baffles me how no one from Turn10 even responds to any of these posts.

Well the way I had figured it out was to do a reset of my profile and start from scratch. It may take a while for you to get your s tuff back but at least you will be able to get your gift cars.

Hello, I have a problem with the game “Forza 5”. I bought the “collector” pack so I am VIP. I do receive the freebie cars but I can’t get back them. How can you reset your profile? My concern is that I have purchased tokens to buy cars. Don’t want to loose those. Turn10 People, you can tune into this discussion at any point now. Seriously though, people need your help.

I did a reset of my profile by holding down the RB LB RT and LT and pressing either the Y button or the Start button. I lost all of my progress and all of my Credits and tokens, but I was able to download my Gift Cars. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are heavily invested in the game. Thankfully I was only a level 23 or 24 and I hadn’t invested a lot of time into it.
