Cannot connect to online lobbies

Hey guys, for the past few days i have been having problems connecting to the hoppers. One moment i would be playing fine and when i sit down to have another session some hours later i would select a lobby and i would get a please wait message after the matchmaking request message with a long wait, which results in a message saying can’t find any game session. Now,i can join lobby off people’s gamertags through the friend’s list just fine but i cannot join on my own.Bear in mind, that my gamertag reputation is at “avoid me” because of me hitting people due to connection problems. Is that a factor or are the servers just borked? Thanks a lot in advance.

EDIT:I managed to join a lobby and everytime i did, there was only one person in the lobby.Everytime i checked his reputation was also on “avoid me”.So is the game pairing me with players of the same reputation and effectively banning me from playing with others? If so,how am i supposed to better my reputation if don’t have clean races?

For a long period of time play only with friends, or simply play another game and avoid being reported

I always had the impression that it didn’t matter what your rep was in Forza. I’ve seen lots of players with that tag in the same public lobby as me and mine is good.

Not sure if this is the issue but sometimes I have the same problem and it is due to my nat settings being strict or moderate. This happens because I have too many devices like iphones, an ipad, a lap top, smart tv, etc running on wireless while my xbox runs on a wired connection. I’m no expert but it feels as though they conflict each other after awhile and for whatever reason it makes me have a harder time finding populated games through matchmaking. It either doesn’t work at all or it takes a super long time to find a lobby with 1-3 others in it. It doesn’t matter if i’m playing FM6 or GTA 5 it does the same thing. The weird thing is it doesn’t seem to affect Battlefield 4 at all since I can join games through a server browser.

You have probably been told this by a bunch of different people but when this happens I need to unplug my router, unplug my xbox and turn off the wireless devices. When I plug my router back in and it connects, the xbox is the first thing I turn on afterwards. After that my nat settings are back to ‘open’ and I have no more problems, even if I turn the other wireless devices later on.

No,as it turns out the matchmaking as long as i am on “avoid me” status, puts me only with people of the same stature.I can join off my friends list or through invites.Regarding how i ended up there,i have accumulated 2 communication bans when i first got the game for swearing(not my proudest moment and also i do not fault xbox live for giving them to me)and then multiple reports for me hitting people when in reality i am lagging and on my screen i barely touch them. Now,these types of reports i condone,it is fair to report me for that and i do not feel aggrieved. What i do not condone and frankly triggers me is i have 15 reports for cheating by salty racers guessing because i dominated a lobby for a session and they feel i am cheating.

please refer to this for info about your current reputation level.
