I have NEVER had connection issues with Forza.
My internet connection and multiplayer connection all indicate “No Problems”
I can reach the Multiplayer and League lobby list pages.
I cannot enter a lobby. I get a “Joining Lobby” message for an extended time period but eventually get the message “Joining Lobby - Disconnected from server”
This happened to me after the update Thursday. Went to my network settings to find that somehow my NAT was set to strict instead of open how it usually is. I did a hard reset and unplugged my router and modem for a couple minutes. I turned everything back on and my NAT was set to open again and I could access multiplayer.
Still ongoing with me this morning. What did I spend my $100 on, exactly?
This is happening to me too today for the first time. Went and spent my credits on some new R class cars and tunes, tested them out, then unsuccessfully tried to join the R class ghost league several times. Online aspects of this game have been very disappointing since launch.
Also now happening to me. Was able to connect and race this morning but now not at all.
Welcome to the club
Add me to the list since the update as well. I never had issues and I have been on board since the first game.
Was able to connect and play online two days ago but I can’t do that now
Anyone have some thoughts on getting around this in the near future for the time being? I’m not finding very much help on the site here.
I am no longer having the issues that I had 3 days ago when I posted this. Perhaps for me, the problem self-fixed. I hope that the rest of you who identified yourselves as having the same problem will find relief quickly. It is very frustrating.
This connection issue has been problematic since launch. For awhile, I had minor, sporadic problems with failure to connect/being dropped mid-race/etc. About 10 days ago, these problems were replaced by a permanent “failed to acquire server data” when trying to connect to any online hopper in FM6. This is not an issue in FM5, so I’m reasonably confident that the problem is not on my end, especially with the substantial number of similar non-connection issues posted throughout this forum.
Like my fellow gamers/racers, I wish the issue would be addressed in a way other than a Mod posting the email address of Turn10. It’s disappointing that the vast majority of support in this support forum is provided by other users, not by T10/MS. While I acknowledge that there are many different configurations being used by gamers worldwide, surely the inordinate number of similar occurrences of connection problems would tend to justify the reasonable assumption that there is a problem (software. hardware or both) on T10/MS’s end. All my other games that have online play components (including, as mentioned above, FM5) are working and connecting just fine. But as near as I can see from reading several hundred posts in various “I can’t connect/stay connected in/to MP” threads, I can’t find one single post from T10/MS acknowledging there’s a problem being worked on, let alone providing a fix/workaround. And before someone says “well, do you want us to spend our time working on the issue or responding to posts about it?”, frankly, I think you should be able to do both. Seems to me that programmers should program and CS folks should answer user posts in the forums. I’ve been around computers since the late 1970’s (I’m 66) and spent 25 years in a CS related industry, so I know something about both areas.
So now I’ll climb back into my comfy chair and play one of the other games I own that don’t exhibit MP connection problems. And even though I’ve already spent my $100 on FM6, unless this problem is resolved sooner than later it’ll be a cold day in you know where before you’ll sucker me in again.
