First of everyone at PlayGround Games and Turn 10 absolutely well done. What a reveal. I felt so nostalgic watching the teaser.
Seeing as ForzaTech is being used I’m wondering would it be possible to have Progressive Rubbering on circuit races in Horizon 6?
It would bring a new driving mechanic to the game a little on the SIM side. It works brilliantly on Forza Motorsport.
Something to think about.
Again absolutely smashed it THANK YOU!!!

Hello, I understand the idea and I am absolutely against it, especially in Horizon!
For me, it would be more of an embarrassing constraint than anything else

Get better at it then. I’d like to see Forza Horizon 6 to be different from all the ones that came before. With ForzaTech the possibilities are endless.
Chill bruh.
He’s entitled to his opinion without the ‘git gud’ nonsense.

Oh I know I just don’t want a copy paste game. Us Xbox players waited long enough. I would like it to be as challenging as possible.
I’d rather the AI be challenging without having to resort to cheating, which is what every rubberbanding system in any racing game does.

The rubber banding isn’t an issue for me but your first point is spot on. I’d like the AI to be more proficient in their racing also not to be ramming me off the road would be awsome. That annoys me no end. I mean we get enough of that online as it is.
I actually agree with the rubbering in but not sure how well it would work on non circuit street racing where there are more driving line options.
You’d also need tyre deg to account for the rubber laid down imo.
And if we’re doing this, why not have persistent track deformation on CC and dirt events. Sega rally could do it.

The point to point races wouldn’t have it as it’s just a one way race.
I’d only have it in circuit races where Rubbering can happen.
Yes the deformation idea is a great one. Just imagine it nice and smooth (ish) on the first lap then divets everywhere and little gullys form, in wet laps could be filled with water and get the cars so dirty. Plus mud kicking up onto the screen.
Yes I agree

Tbh in normal races/official online races it would mean nothing, since in horizon races are short, u just won’t be able to put enough rubber on track for it to have effect.
On other side if u force faster rubbering, it will be annoying to deal with, because every lap will be too different.
The only reasonable way to implement rubbering is as optional feature for custom races.

Nah you can have it in single player. Just take the time for each lap and maybe start with 15% and as the race goes on increase it. Now it don’t have to be the same scale as Motorsport just something on a smaller scale, it will also get casuals into building cars by this one thing Tyre and compound. You’d never know it could spark the next online tuner. Which is great for the community more tunes more fun.
Once again, I applaud the competitive and passionate player’s point of view, but I think that a large part of the FH player base doesn’t care about settings and tire temperature!
That doesn’t mean it’s uninteresting. As an option or sparingly in endurance-type races, why not? (Just as The Crew, in its ultra-arcade style, has integrated a tire management system in very specific cases of “official” racing.)
But generally speaking, for the main “course” of the game, I don’t see the point.

So basically have the game the same and never change just because of the casuals. That’s the problem with horizon too busy catering for the casuals when it’s the core players who stick around. The game is way too easy and I don’t standby (as I buy my games) 80 plus dollar/euro on a game that’s the same as previous versions.
This time the core players should be catered to as it’s us keeping the game(s) alive.
You’re missing the point, even though I understand where you’re coming from and agree with you.
Forza does not emphasise loyalty to the licence (in fact, the body that rewards loyalty, a superb invention called ForzaHub, has disappeared) and you will never see ‘Thank you to our 250,000 regular players for continuing to play continuously for years’ but ‘The game has surpassed 40 million players’.
The figures that speak for themselves and interest the studio.

So I suppose given your point (which is a hundred percent valid) it’s gonna be another copy paste game. Which is a pity.

Horizon is a casual game. Most of the Horizon players won’t have any idea about rubbering or care what it is. It’s a series of quick fire relaxed/fun races with exploration and freeform car tuning.

I only now just realized this thread was about rubbering-in and not rubberbanding AI. Whoops. Anyways, I think it’d be a cool feature to add. I never say no to more Sim mechanics even if the game is Simcade at best.
