So I pretty much only race A RWD 1/4 mile drags and so far I’ve gotten my 1940 Ford to run a 8.45, my Nova runs 8.81s~ and my Alfa runs 8.7s.
I managed to get all those times through just dumb luck and kept changing things until it worked without really knowing what the changes were effecting but I always seem to hit a wall and I can’t make it go any faster no matter what I do.
I feel pretty competent in my gearing but my suspension could use a lot of work I feel. So I’d appreciate any tips or guides anyone has.
Never done drag. But from a racing standpoint all your alignment should be staight to gain the most possible speed. Eg 0/0 camber, no toe and minimun caster. Which ever wheels are spinning on launch should have the suspension softened to that side. Eg front spinning go for a softer front and vice versa
That’s 100% wrong, most cars are faster with 5.0 positive camber on the front, and 2.6+ negative camber on the rear. It should be tuned in conjunction with your rear tire pressure, and suspension.
What problems are you having? Although in real life those above suggestions would work…but alas this is Forza and things are a bit different. I will tell you that those times posted are not too shabby!!! We drag every Saturday nite so let me know if you want to join!!!
Here’s a link to our site. Any of the guys can help you get going in the right direction!!
Most important thing in my eyes is to find the best tuning parts. Especially in the lower classes you have a big variety of tuning in power, weight or something else. Cam shaft or weight reduction? Twin Turbo or Supercharger? 1,6 L racing engine or a big V8?
great group of guys there i can vouch they are all fast and will give you the hood off their cars if it will make you faster,
this is just what i was shown in the mid part of fm4 by pac performace over at fodrl (formerly known as the fhra)
tire pressure : 55F,29.0R
alignment: camber : +.2F,-2.5R front caster - 7.0
anti-rollbars: 40.00F/R
springs : super soft front , super stiff rear ride height : all the way up on rwd front and rear
damping : rebound : 1.0F,13.0R bump: 13.0F/R
(this is for rwd )
also like koopa posted some cars are faster with more positive front camber than what i have listed above
