I’m kind of new to drag racing, mainly trying to get into it since the experimental drag mode interested me and I want to expand out to a little more than just circuit racing. So I was wondering, what are some good tips to fine tuning drag cars, specifically what are some good tire pressures to start out with, how should the suspension/dampening act, how should I set the gearing and how many gears should I run, etc? I would really appreciate it.
EDIT: Just as a note, I mainly tune using feel and the telemetry. Feel free to describe it as you want.
depends on the type of car ,hp and drive type
rwd:
front tire pressure 55psi , rear 28-30
ride height all the way up
3 or 4 gears depending on power
dampening can be all stiff (for cars that tend to wheelie all the time )
drag has the most simplistic setups (many of the older drag guys have been running the same suspension settings since fm3

I learned from some of those old school guys and have a couple threads I started about how I tune for drag. I have changed a little bit from that as a personal preference. I like the lower more realistic stance. I also try to make real life gear ratios work. I looked at the Rossler website for example. It shows a whole range of power glide 2spd ratios to the 4spd.
Anyway, I’ll never claim to be the quickest. Especially when I go against the grain and not make every car a skyscraper, lol. I have some tunes shared. My newest favorite is my ‘69 Nova for the exp drag mode. It’ll run 8.8’s or better. But I am gonna throw a link to that thread here. Maybe it’ll help, at least that’s the hope.
