I’m not by any means impressed when it comes to the drag racing on the airstrip in this game. Tuning seems impossible, and I refuse to use traction control. Mainly stick to rear wheel drive late-model muscle cars. What’re y’all doing for traction? I need help!
I’ve been running lower final drives with a longer first gear to help fight the traction issues. I also use the old “drop/catch” method when launching.
We drag every Saturday night and I know plenty of guys here that can help you out!
It’s been awhile since I last built a proper drag car, and there’s all kinds of new techniques being used I’m still trying to figure out. But the most basic and simple way to get more traction is to just
1: raise the ride height.
2: turn the front spring rate down as low as possible, and rear spring rate up high as possible.
3: turn the front rebound down low as possible, and the rear high as possible.
4: turn the front compression high as possible, and rear as low as possible.
5: turn the front camber all the way positive, and the rear to around 2.4 - 3.0 negative.
The tire pressure is also important, but you need to figure that out for the particular car, easiest way is to just turn the front tire pressure all the way up and fiddle with the rear tire pressure until you get the best 0-60 time, though lowest tire pressure usually works best in Horizon 2. The gearing is something you need to figure out on your own also.
There’s allot more to it if you want to make a car fast as possible that involve making the tire pressure and spring rate, etc, etc, work together to get optimal traction but I can’t really explain how that works as I don’t fully understand it yet either.
dosnt sound quite right to me, i haven’t been drag tuning long but why would you want to put camber on the driving wheels, and i been making the dampers stiff in the front and soft in the back not the other way around and have been seeing grip improvements. with the ride height you only need to raise the front
On forza 5 this way worked well but without drag tires I find that way useless. The best way on Horizon to gain traction is to convert to AWD, I dont like doing that to muscle cars.
Forza give us drag tires!
Would someone please help me with the gearing to use with the Lotus Eleven? I a am running around 870 ish in S1 class. I want it to accelerate quickly and only use gears 1-4 if possible. I want to do my own tune so that I can adjust the other settings for better control. All of the downloaded tunes are locked so you can’t edit them.
