Not sure why but I can’t seem to get my Forza 5 data to sync, every time I try to start the game I get a message reading " An unknown error occurred. Please try again later " which was 4 hrs ago. I have tested all my connections and have no problem playing any other game? What are my options.

Did you try fully turning off the Xbox by holding down the power button and unplugging the system? For some it seems this method can fix the problem.
i had this problem i had to do factory reset i got to keep my cars and tokens lap times but lost money and races that i spent lots of time doing
Well everytime I start the game it says"Syncing Data for Forza Motorsports 5" and I don’t know how long this will last,I even tried MS but they said “It would be a week before they could sort out the problem” big help that would be.
Shut down the console itself by holding the X button on the front. Then unplug the cord on the power pack between the pack and the wall. Wait about five minutes, plug the power back in. Start the console as you normally do.
You should first see a green screen while the system does its synchronization with Xbox LIVE, followed by a black screen with the white X button in the center. After that, sign into Xbox LIVE properly, and then try the game again. Don’t rush it. Take your time.

Tried all this with no luck, it really puts me off buying Forza 6 to be honest
I’ve had the same problem on forza 5 and lost all my game data. Around 100 million of game credits, every car, designs, vinyls etc etc…now forza 6 is doing the same! My game is just not accessing any of my game data. Massively peed off. 4 days now and not loading. Administration please respond to how I remedy this issue. I’ve paid for vip and car packs. How do I get refunded for these failings in the system. I’m soo close to selling my xbox one and going a different route. Been playing since forca 1!
