Does anyone else find the ability not to turn this feature off really annoying?! The way the steering wheel shakes around is really over the top. On a flat main road in a luxury car the steering wheel shakes as if there’s an earthquake going on! Why can’t we turn it off? This feature has been around since Forza 4, or maybe before, I can’t remember and in every game you have the option to turn it off. It’s giving me a headache!
There was a good balance of Road effects in the cockpit view on the first Horizon and a noticeable change between on and off road driving with this effect turned off. I hate it, always turn of off. Please, please, please bring this ability back in FH2.
Anyone who agrees please post here or let me know if I should have posted this somewhere else.
Other than that I’m loving the game so far. Great work PG Games!!!
Maybe I’ve got the name of it wrong, I can’t check until I get home and look at the menu on older games. It’s in the video settings menu on FM4, FH1 and FM5 and it stops the cockpit shaking around.
That option is definitely in FH1 and FM5.
I cant really see why you’d turn them off though. The cockpit view gives you a more immersive experience and the shaking is part of it. But saying that it would be nice to have the option.
It’s a bit over the top the way it shakes so much, that’s why I’ve always turned it off. I’ve been 160mph on a track and 145mph on the motorway, sorry I mean Autobahn, Officer. The shaking effect is just a bit… well… bad, with a capital ‘F’.
I can’t understand why they’ve left if out, surely it’s part of the basic Forza engine and the option has always been there in previous games.
Please bring it back… or at least turn it down a bit.
What kind of car do you have that doesn’t shake at 145+ mph? Is it a Citroen or something? You maybe don’t notice it so much in a real car as you are shaking with it but it does shake about a lot even at speeds of around 70mph.
It’s a friend’s SL55 Kleeman. Goes like a rocket ship.
Your point kind of proves my point. If you’re shaking with it you don’t notice it. As I don’t shake around on my sofa (couch) when I’m playing Forza then my virtual hands and the steering wheel shouldn’t either. And trust me, an SL55 does 145+ without any shaking at all. I’ve also been a passenger in a Gallardo Superleggera on the Nurburg Ring and we didn’t shake around like that either.
In fact the last time noticed shaking like that from my steering wheel was when I was 17yr old in my first car, a Renault 5 automatic. I maxed it out at a brain shaking 80mph. The tracking on that car was ****ed and it was generally falling apart.
The shaking effect is way over the top and I don’t think it adds anything to the feeling of speed in the game.
The only time I’ve had a problem with this is during the signature events. For some reason the folks at Playground think that when you come close to any large vehicles your entire car has to shake like it’s in its death throes.
He’s asking if the feature’s there; not if you think he should have it or not.
Anyway, I agree with the OP - the feature should be there. I’ve found the motion effects over the top in FH2 as well (though they’re fine, for me, in FM5).
I have the XO version, and after searching through the menus (hoping I’d missed it before), it’s definitely not there.
So tonight I’ve played FM4, FH1, FM5 and then back to FH2. All other games have the option to turn the stupid shaky effects off, even the X360 version of FH2. It’s obviously a fault or a bug. I hope you guys fix it asap! There’s even a space at the bottom of the HUD menu where it’s supposed to go!!!
