And how exactly would you know it is Unreleased and how exactly would PG know you know?
This is incredibly stupid on PG’s fault if they are banning people for purchasing unreleased vehicles on the Auction House. I didn’t spend $60 on this game to have to police it for them and I am not going to go through a list of released versus unreleased vehicles to ensure that I am buying a “legit” vehicle from the AH.
Failure on all this is through and through the developers/publishers fault and not the fault of us trying to play the game, so getting banned for buying a car in their own Auction House is pathetic.
FH4, PG locked cars from being sold that were not yet released to the public.
That’s all they have to reinstate if there is an issue with these vehicles.
Sorted. They’re not going to ban an over enthusiastic player for obtaining a car from the auction house. In FH4 I got a Horizon Story taxi, Bel air and the debug Senna’s and all they did was remove them from people’s inventories. Those were modded vehicles. These are just regular cars.
I’m pretty sure you’re all good if you happen to get one. No big deal.
Exactly. FH5 has had 10 million players since launch (yes, many one-and-done Game Pass subscribers). I’d be surprised if 1% of that group even see (much less participate) in Forza’s online communities. They don’t know released from unreleased. They don’t know meta. They’ll play the game and buy cars, use liveries and tunes, and race event labs because PGG have provided - and sometimes promoted - them to players.
The fact that we’re here even discussing the notion that Turn 10/PGG may ban you for playing elements freely available in game is a massive indictment on their customer support and community engagement.
One saving grace for PGG is that this is a casual, and somewhat unique game; a lot of players take it or leave it. If the player base was more hardcore, and there was a competitive alternative, (like COD vs BF) the news of players getting banned for innocently using objects misappropriated by others would be a PR disaster, and engagement would plummet as gamers moved to the competition. I’d imagine that if some of these fears (a ridiculous feeling to have as a paying customer) were present in Motorsport, the game would be of greater risk to fans moving to an alternative game and therefore these PR missteps would be treated more proactively.
The one problem with this is that some people have gotten them as gifts so even if they delete them they did still have them. Not to mention that a lot of people don’t follow upcoming rewards and would have no idea that it’s not available yet.
The oversight by the developers on this is insane.
They were banning players for obtaining cars in FH4, and had issues with them in the auction house.
Now they introduce a gifting mechanic but don’t address the fact people still obtain bannable cars. How shortsighted is that.
You’re telling me no one brought up the issue of gifting bannanle cars during game development? Incompetence blows me mind.
*second issue, the main reason I play games is for FUN
PGG is ruining that making this game more like a job. I buy a racing game and have to research the availability/ban status of over 500 cars? Really?
Talk of bans for this is nuts.I’ve just bought a civic coupe out of the auction for 20m to complete the auction accolade.I’ve been conned and end up with a hacked civic - and its only luck that i even noticed this cos it turned up in my stats as my most succesful car even though i’ve never driven it,so i checked it out. How in any way do i, or anyone else deserve a ban for that ? There are getting on for 600 hundred cars in the game, are we expected to know the availability of every car of the top of our heads?
Easiest way to spot what cars you need to buy to get them all is through the collection page - oh i need an x,y&z i’ll check the auctions and pick them up. YOU BOUGHT A ‘Z’ ,THEY ARE NOT OUT YET- BANNNNNNNNN
