Braking

I’m really struggling with the braking on this forza , only using the standard joypad ,can anyone please recommend, using the left trigger to brake with, having to use abs as manual is very sensitive to locking up

A couple settings to try. Most cars (for me anyways) like roughly 47% braking balance and anywhere 100% to 120% braking bslance.

Also make sure the dead zones on ur contoller are 0 - 100.

Woth more info on what ur brakes are doing we will be able to jelp u out more

Thanks I’ll try those. I’m running 25_100 on the dead zones at the moment

As ERS Johnson pointed out, it’s probably best to have the deadlines at 0-100. I personally use (depending on car/track) in the range of 44 to 51 for balance, and, a pressure of 140 (though will go between 110 to 160 at times.)

Just curious as to why you all are using 120% and above brake pressure? I personally like 90 - 100% pressure and this is completely depending on the cars brake balance. I’ve tried the 120% plus settings and find the car to just become very unstable in braking with it either snap over steering under heaving breaking or plowing into corners. Just want to know if there’s something I’m missing here. Thanks guys.

As SC SLAYER 97 pointed out, it is very much personal preference.

Sure 80-110 brake pressure is working preference, it is slightly more stable and smooth and you won’t lock up too easily, but getting to the range where the brakes are actually working takes a “bit longer” so to say. My personal preference 150+ pressure a lightest tap on the brakes has immidiate and rather strong effect which I personally like. Balance is set so that front locks up just before rears, and downside is that when I’m coming to sharper cornerbut my braking was a bit too late, it will push a lot.
But then again that is just my preference.

Your issue sounds more like brake balance and not pressure.

If it plows under hard non lock up braking lower the slider balance number

If it gets to loose under hard non lock up braking raise the slider balance number.

If no matter what something is locking up that still could be balance so move the balance on the slider away from the side of the car locking up to keep from locking up.

160% will lock just as hard as 100% unless u have the balance correct and pressure correct so dont instantly assume the reason ur locking up is pressure related. It is normally tune or driver that causes lock up

Its about personal preference for me I run my brake pressures at 140%-160% most of the time.

Higher pressure is better once you master it. Better go get the braking over as quickly as possible and high pressure does this. It’s like using 15 sensitivity on cod against a noob with 3. It’s quicker but harder and less accurate initially but once you get used to and master, well you know the rest. There slow your fast. Just be gentle and consistent to start with

200% pressure is the way I go. Once your used to it, its rather easy to keep your braking very consistent and fast. Just barely pull the trigger and down shift you’ll slow like nothing. It’ll seem as though you just tapped the brake.
