After seeing the news of DLC being yet again an awful Hot Wheels expansion I have no interest in after already buying and playing the FH3 version, add to the fact we have had to wait an extra 6 months for it while putting up with a still severly broken and unfinished product that the base game still is, I would like to get in touch with support to request some form of refund, because rehashing old DLC content while your game is still broken is nothing less than a slap in the face to loyal customers who have supported you and this title in good faith with the purchase of the Ultimate Edition, expecting at the very least, a proper polished base game that isn’t littered with game breaking bugs and lazy asset use, and the prepaid DLC to actually release on time and actually be NEW original content, rather than reusing DLC you’ve done before that doesn’t even appeal to me as an adult, and im sure a majority of that demographic made it clear Hot Wheels and LEGO and other childish gimmicks is not the way to go for a series that is meant to cater to car enthusiasts, not children.
I would have been a bit more leniant if the base game was actually decent and fun, but it simply isn’t. It’s just a bad reskin of FH4 with less innovative features but with more issues like broken car models (lets not talk about half the cars being reused models from Xbox 360 and the absolute lack of new customisation, just the same bodykits with the awful generic rear wing and race calipers from 360 FM4), awful performance and memory leaks and broken audio, audio still has a horrible crackling that is beyond irritating.
It’s fair to say, I’ve been misreable with this game since day 1, and the new DLC is not only a failure in wanting me to come back and enjoy the game, but it’s an absolute gut punch and insult to give us a reused theme that doesn’t even appeal to a demographic that is a good chunk of the playerbase and didn’t even enjoy, on top of the fact we had to wait an extra 6 months for it and the base game is still just as broke as it was on release.
Sorry to be negative.

Nope, sorry. You’re stuck with this game and its DLCs. They rarely give out refunds even if you’ve never played it, but after 6 months? Not a chance.

I’d guess your chances are somewhere between slim and none.
If you are as unhappy as you make out I hope you haven’t wasted too much time playing the game.
If you’re a loyal customer you would know that it is going to be something quite bad, and that Hotwheels is the best outcome you could hope for. With me, if I had known in advance that it was going to be Hotwheels I would have bought the DLC in advance like you did, and saved some money on the second FREE DLC.
Sorry I feel just like you do. We are considered “aged out” to be of any concern to PGG. It’s all about getting those Fortnite players and their money now.
If you want to return anything then the best place to start is with the place you made your purchase however I suspect they will point out that at the time of the sale you purchased the product with the full knowledge that the expansions were unknown. I think MS have a cutoff for playtime regarding returns but its in the order of hours and not the days youve had out of it already

I guess there’s something wrong with me. 60 years old and I loved the Lego expansion in Horizon 4. Probably helped as I’m a collector of Lego Technic models. I’m fine with the Hotwheels expansion as I missed out on it in Horizon 3. I have Horizon 3 but I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get the expansion when I had the opportunity to do so.
It’s not all rosy. The base game of Horizon 5 after 6 months is now pretty boring. I’m now playing a few other car games. I now just do the weekly playlist only. In some respects Horizon 4 was a more engaging game.

I’m a grown adult and also had a blast with both the Lego and Hot Wheels expansions. Hate to break it to the OP, but the Horizon subseries was never meant for “serious car enthusiasts” (whatever that even means). If that’s all you’re into, get yourself a proper sim.

Why didn’t you refund it THEN? Well, you seem to like suffering. That’s cool and all, but it’s definitely your own fault. Both for not acting sooner AND for buying the DLC unseen.

OP is stating DLC news put him completely off the game, most were prolonging the horrendous base game in the hope of something better with said DLC. The only natural thing to feel is discontent.
Doesnt matter whether he bought premium editions, no-one knew what the DLCs were to be anyway.
