XBone Ultimate edition - how to get a refund?

Hi all, ahead is a long way of asking if anyone knows how to get a refund for F7 purchased through Xbone?

Bought and played every Forza game released, every GT game released and also the PC sims. I usually play on Fanatec CSW V2, V3 pedals, SQ shifter.

Since GT3 i think Forza easily took the genre, and have happily paid and played hrs on Forzas. Forza 5 was a step backwards in content and changes and Turn 10 seemed to acknowledge this with Forza 6 - was what Forza 5 should have been from the start. I have put many, many hours into Forza 6 and enjoyed it - yes its not a hardcore sim but I can have fun on it.

So to Forza 7 - I think anyone who is defending this game is doing so for reasons other than it being a demonstrably good advancement of the series, clearly it is not.

Surely the core of Forza has been upgrading and wheeling your pet cars against all sorts of opposition - now no more due to the racing series restrictions.

Surely, well in the early days anyway, it had pretty good physics for console. Assetto has changed that for consoles but Forza used to represent a good balance between physics/accessibility/varied and customisable racing. Now the physics seem to me to be absolutely terrible - i played b2b with Forza 6 and it seems much more consistent, cars seem actually different and steerable. There is something very wrong with he physics or tyre models - I am not expert but it is very noticeable to me. The several good articles on real life car/track lap times V Forza 7 highlight this issue well.

The AI has gone backwards, and now one has to restart a race completely to try and get past the first 3 corner demolition derby that the devs must think is somehow fun in a racing “sim”.

Dont get me started on loot boxes - enough has been said.

Anyway, the game is not what i paid for, and I want a refund - does anyone know how to request one when it was purchased through XBox? Ive played for maybe 2 hrs and am not going to bother downloading the PC version. Yes, 2 hrs isnt much, but is enough to know that this game is a big step backwards for what the Forza franchise was, and when i bought it i wanted Forza, not a slot machine with cars and ice racing physics.

I am out of Forza until Turn 10 demonstrate some care for their customers over the publishers.

Thanks for your feedback. I understand you on this one mate. I do feel the game is really weird at this state. And is clearly not what you can expect when you buy a AAA racing game. As a pilot too, i hope you will find pleasure in another racing game.

Maybe you could go buy Need for speed with your refund.

Yes. Definitely call or live chat with a Microsoft Support representative. You can get your deserved refund. Earlier Forzas were masterpieces. 5 and 6 were obviously steps backwards, especially 5. With few exceptions, Forza 7 is complete garbage for the reasons you see all over this forum, Reddit, YouTube, Microsoft home page reviews, and everywhere else. If Microsoft/Turn 10 doesn’t do a philosophical U-turn, and get back to what got them to the dance in the first place, this franchise is as good as dead.

I’ve played Assetto on a PC for a couple of years, never on a Console, but from all the comments I’ve seen on their website, there are plenty of people hating it. When I first started playing Assetto even on a PC I thought it was some kind of sick joke, you have to really know your settings to get it right and a lot of updates have made the game better.

I don’t mind Forza 7, I know it’s got a few bugs, but handling so far is pretty good in my opinion. Most games need polishing after they first come out and I’m willing to wait.

The thing about Assetto Corsa is it’s not for every one(neither is Project Cars). I remember when it first released and people were disappointed and quite vocal about how bad the game was. What they were really complaining about is they thought they were buying into a “Sim-Cade” racer like a Forza, Gran Turismo or Grid but instead were delivered a RaceRoom or rFactor competitor in the simulation genre. Like you said, you have to learn every car’s setup. More importantly though, you really have to learn to drive. I think it was a bad PR move to release the game on console as it does not translate well to playing with a controller, at least on PC it doesn’t.

I agree about people thinking it was like a normal sim type game, but it was really bad in a lot of areas like tyres squealing just going around a minor bend, the KTM and others rolling over at low speeds, braking was garbage, AI cars knocking you off the road at a mere touch. I could write a book about all the problems it had, but with a lot of updates it got better.
As far as the Console version I can’t remember anyone saying anything good when it came out, I was going to buy it but never did because of the bad reviews.

Anyway except for a few problems I’m quite happy so far with Forza 7, it feels reasonably real to me, not that much different from Assetto Corsa when you take the easy settings off.

OP, good luck with your refund. I don’t blame you for wanting one. The game is not what I wanted either, but I’m making the most of it.

As to AC, I played it for a while on a PC with a wheel before I moved over to Forza. Life issues forced me to get rid of the wheel and get an Xbox. I was hoping to play AC with the controller on my console, but its terrible. With a wheel, it can be a real pain to get things right, but when you do, its AWESOME! The physics are certainly not like they are in Forza 7. The cars are not glued to the road and you are actually challenged on the track. If they made it controller friendly, I’d go back to it in a heartbeat. Forza is the best option we have with a controller. I somewhat liked 6, but 7 is extremely disappointing. Even if they add content, I hate the physics in 7.

I bought Project Cars 2 and found it virtually unplayable. I contacted support and managed to get a refund. I was pretty miffed about what they did to the VIP in this, but now they fixed it, I’m really enjoying the game. I’d be careful about getting a refund for this and getting Project Cars 2 as you might hate it. It might be more difficult to get another refund.

So far, I’m enjoying the career mode more than at least the previous three FM games. Personally, I hated Forza 4… twice. In my case, I got at least some money back returning it to the retailer. To each their own, eh?

It’s very easy to get a refund. Just tell them that you were mis-sold. They are honouring it it would appear.

Microsoft has a 1 time a year, no questions refund policy. That being said…

You have every right to be mad about being “mis sold” but your reasonings, arn’t all that reasonable.

Drivatar, they’re all over the place, while some of it IS from programming, most of it is from Drivatar Sync. Does that ring a bell? It should. Each drivatar, meaning you as a racer, sets a way your drivertar races. The game takes how you drive and sets your ghost as an acting point on how it races when you’re away. But the game is always ramming me! Well that’s because you have people who use their cars as ramming devices and smack people out of the way. Sound familiar? Look at the online lobbies, people are always ramming into eachother. But I don’t ram people, I follow the racing line. Ever notice how some of the cars follow the racing line exactly, and some dive bomb? That isn’t all the coding doing the work. Also, here’s a fun fact you didn’t take the time to actually look at. Go into a corner and slow down a bit and watch the mayhem and then rewind. Did you know that more than 75% of the time, when you rewind, all the cars are rewound and often take the same exact raceline? Hmm, that looks scripted…

The VIP debacle was awful for T10 and Microsoft. They took the hit, licked their wounds, and fixed their issue. Enough said.

Loot Crates…they are not needed, you’re crying over spilt milk when the milk jug has a lid, get over it.

Multiplayer lobbies aren’t running. Well that’s because they are smoothing over things between cross platforming and I am sure they are using the lobbies that ARE out as a load balancing test to see how their servers hold up, same thing with private lobbies in a way. This is NOT unheard of in games that are just coming out.

And if you think games didn’t have their hiccups when they first came out, you’re seriously mistaken. Project Cars - Unplayable with a controller. PC2 - Virtually the same. Don’t even get me started on Gran Turismo. Do you know WHY Forza became the better game? It wasn’t the sound, it wasn’t the music, or the cars, or the tracks. Not at first. Forza Stepped up to it’s game because Gran Turismo was constantly pushed back amid the developer not wanting to put out an incomplete game. Sound familiar T10? The developer wanted the game to be complete with full functioning multiplayer functions. The game was pushed back literally over a year in angst of getting everything solid. In the mean time, Forza came out with several games. Lets put this into perspective for you

Gran Turismo (1997/1998)
Gran Turismo 2 (1999)
Gran Turismo 3 (2001)
Gran Turismo 4 (2004/2005)
Gran Turismo 5 (2010) Notice the gap?

Forza (2005)
Forza 2 (2007)
Forza 3 (2009)

Oh So Forza 7 has 700 cars…Well guess what buddy…Gran Turismo 2, had 650 cars…Gran Turismo 4, had 722, GT5, 1086 cars, GT6, 1226 cars. Also, GT6 had 100 tracks including a track editor. And we wonder why Gran Turismo is making a come back…

All things that rise will come down again and unless T10 fixes there stuff, then yeah they will fall like Gran Turismo did with a 5+ year gap.

Oh, but you will want to see where I got these numbers from right:? Well here, check them yourself

So before you get all high and mighty about what game this is and what state it is in currently, check facts and read on gaming history, especially if you didn’t endure it, or don’t remember it.
