Best Goliath Car

Yeah the rubber-banding is painfully obvious in Goliath races. I’ll be around 2/3rds of the map with no competition on my minimap and all of a sudden BOOM! AI spots 2-5 are on me like white on rice. Not only that, I sincerely felt like my car – HE Escort S1 900 – took a precipitous drop in performance around that time; we’re not talking normal wear-and-tear here. We’re talking tires that feel like they should after maybe 4 Goliath laps, not 2/3rds of one and a distinct power hit, too.

My personal favorite will most definitely be my A800 Lotus Cortina.

I use the brz he xp car for that race !!

I use the Ultima GTR 720 (I don’t have any DLC, so the 1020 is out of bounds for me) with the 5.2L V10 swap, AWD, twin turbos and maxed upgrades including race aero. Tuning wise all I max the downforce and tweak the gears - from what I can remember, 1st gear hits the limiter at around 115mph, and top speed is around 261mph.

I have raced every car in my garage on it (personal goal) but my go to is my S1 Countach HE. I have a 6 lap race set up under the movie icon selection. It makes my about $1.15 million for just over an hour racing, not the fastest but enjoyable. You could set up a race to farm money with the Ford GT HE but I prefer the S1 class to S2 or X.

similar set up here.
double credit on exhibition perk and a Countach HE and the money rolls in fast

'08 Dodge Viper ACR Horizon Edition for credits
'13 Subaru BRZ Horizon Edition for xp
'14 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Horizon Edition for skills points

For me, it’s a tie between these two cars.

I’ve been doing a 6-lap blueprint of Goliath recently with the GT HE. i’m not the cleanest of drivers, so i’m getting around 9 mins 50 secs to 10 mins a lap. I usually do a couple of laps then pause for a few minutes then continue. gets me a bucket load of skill points & with the Exhibition double credit Skill option, I get about 1M credits per race.

I’m much slower than that with the Countach HE. It also seems like AI drivers rubberband like crazy and sometimes don’t even slow down around 90 degree corners behind you in order to catch you. Drivers who are way way behind catch up somehow. If one rubberbands to you soon another will till the top 4 is right on you and the rest of the field is 10 or more seconds slower per lap.

The BMW Isetta took me around 38 minutes I think…slow but fun…

2008 viper acr he, i run the stock 8.4l v10 almost full built with tt. they have great acceleration, awesome top speed and ridiculous handling

BRZ HE for me too. more stable than the Jag HE.

I use the Ford GT HE credits boost car.

I have to use a credits boost car as i’m level 525 and so takes so much XP to level up that it’s not viable for Goliath to run anything else other than credits boost.

I do 6 laps races. Takes 1 hour. I get £1.1m per race and around 600k in XP (with also using all the available skill point perks), which levels me up around 5 times, so the 5 wheel spins also bring more cash.

Can’t see any other method where I can get that much money in an hour.

My tune ‘0 air max handle’ for the Ford GT horizon edition, will do a 9:26 lap.
Its also S2 and will blow the doors off almost anything racing online. If the track has a straight, you win.

If I’m needing credits I use the Ford F-150 Raptor A800 AWD with all assists turned off. AI difficulty varies. If I’m needing XP (which is 99% of the time) I tend to stay away from the usual XP cars, mainly because I’m a rubbish video game driver and lose far too many skill chains. After testing a lot of cars, the most XP I got per Goliath Lap WITHOUT perks was with the Suburu Brat HE with Unbeatable AI. I never had the skill to win but got 2nd, and got loads of XP from drafting and clean racing alone. I’ve recently done it in a 1968 Arbarth 595 Essesse with D100 with all the AI driving the same car. My first lap took ages, but after I found out that I could add 18 extra HP, AWD and adjustable aero’s to the tune and not increase the PI I did it again against unbeatable AI and not only wiped the floor with them, took 5 MINUTES off my first lap time attempt. It didn’t quite match the Brat for XP but was SO much fun. and earned more credits than the Brat

Is your credits per hour higher running the 1968 car than running a faster car and less skilled drivatars? Also, XP cars will not affect your skills points, only the final XP total.

One thing that I really don’t get about people that run Goliath is that they complain about rewind not working in long races. The solution here is don’t use it. It’s like a 10 percent credit increase going without rewind that can really add up over a long race. Unfortunately Goliath is the only race with any real length. I hope they fix this situation in future Horizon games.

TBH I’ve never worried about credits per hour so I’m not sure but I might start logging that. I don’t care about winning so i’d be interested to find out if it’s better to come first with New Racer AI or 12th with unbeatable AI. I’m the same with Rewind, don’t bother, I don’t use any racing line either as I know the Goliath track better than any 1.6 mile per lap races

I had wondered about that myself, so I compared the two a couple weeks ago and found that 12th place on Unbeatable difficulty still awards more credits than 1st place on New Racer difficulty.
