Beginner lobbies

I’m a forza noob, currently level 40 something, I’d consider myself a beginner, why is it that beginner lobbies are filled with a better portion of 200+ lvl drivers? Up too level 1000,like come on, there should be servers with restrictions on this. I’m getting chewed up lol. Not to mention the asshats that go out of there way to knock you off the track, not very nice. Either way, it is the finest racing game I’ve ever played, would love to have a garage that I could walk around in first person view.

I honestly cannot think of anything to justify higher level players (not that a high level means they’re good at the game) going in the beginner hoppers. Especially when you consider that the regular hoppers are full of players who really belong in the beginner hoppers. It’s all rather backwards.

I’m at level 140 or so, but I enjoy racing in the beginner hopper lobbies because each race is fast and easy. For me, I like racing less laps on certain tracks that I can’t stand such as Prague and the Bernise Alps. Also, if you get wiped out on the first turn of the race, you won’t have to wait much longer for the next race. The XP builds up a tad bit slower, but it’s fun nonetheless. Sure beats playing in the regular lobbies where it’s an automatic loss if you see obvious clan racers (have the first part of their gamertag having 3 capital letters.)

Someone with a higher driver level may not have raced online before, in which case the beginner lobbies are for them as well - I have spent plenty of time playing racing games for many years now but rarely online (Burnout Paradise being the last one), and doing some races in the beginner lobbies helped me get used to the Forza style of racing and trying to avoid incidents. Doesn’t excuse the trolls, crashers and potty mouth idiots being in there but meant I could get used to the online version of racing before getting my butt handed to me by those that have spent plenty of time online.

Easy answer… It is easy to win

This.

Top 25 drive will race in these hopper.

About the only legit reason I could think of was to hang in a lobby with a beginner friend. Short of that it’s just people being douches for free lead dog miles, medal achievements, etc.

I don’t belong in these lobbies but forgave to confess joining then sometimes with a friend who doesn’t have the skills yet for higher lobbies or just to get away from the “elitist” that i find I run into alot. I do chose my slowest and hardest Car to drive ghost so that I’m Not dominating. Most the time if I do manage to win among the wrecked it’s within a few seconds even if my lap times show alot more.

I for one go in that lobby, not to purposely to ruin it for others, but because there are always full lobbies with top names and cause i like C class. If i try to join the normal C class lobby there are barely any lobbies and if there is a full lobby its with the same old people who wreck you out.

But faster people in the no collision lobby go too far and pull out lb cars and there’s nothing you can do which is annoying. Yeh you can say well why don’t you do that too but if I wanted to hotlap I certainly wouldn’t do it in a public lobby for various reasons.

As far as levels go you may as well ignore it, Ive been in a lobby with a guy who had 7k+ level (no joke) and he was completely useless. The ranking system from Forza 3 was quite good, but no surprise they got rid of it with a feature that favours the casual players and gives them a target to aim for and achieve i.e. get as high level as possible.

Well that’s interesting. I like c class too and rarely can find competent racers in those lobbies. Might have to try the beginners thing to see what’s up.

@ OP, I can tell ya right now, most players online that I’ve seen are of the beginner skill level. I’ve seen a guy with over 5000 driver level that was routinely 10-15 seconds off pace and finishing towards last.

Driver level like raul is saying is a terrible judge of driver skill. If trueskill was back, you’d be able to tell who is good, though I’d imagine some decent players who are scared to lose would still be in the beginners lobby lol.

Im currently over level 600+ and I race on beginner lobbies for one reason and one reason only: more players and more players equals full rooms which to me equals more fun!!!

I played a race or two in the beginner lobby just to see if there really are beginners playing in them. I can’t say I was surprised when I saw a level 1200 in there, and to add to that he was using a Ferrari F50 too, come on man…

Wouldn’t that be crazy if when you raced and you didn’t Show, you had to skip the next race? Or if you didn’t Show you were kicked from multi-player for an hour?

That’s right, it’s just a video game. If you Win, Place or Show nothing ever happens. Nothing. If you don’t Win, Place or Show nothing ever happens. Nothing. Why are we aimlessly going around in circles in a non-existent world?

Just having fun and making myself chuckle. Never you mind me. Pheasants.
