Beat me - something to do - Hotlap challenge

Hi guys

i find myself in the position that i have finished the single player aspects of the game and since im not interested in only playing online from here on out i was wondering what to do.

I have completed the career mode except for 2 endurance races which i don’t care for.
I have driven every car i own (779) with the exception of some clones (formula e and nascar (same car different livery ))
Lastly i added people from the forums to my friends list to compete with their ghosts in rivals.
But since new rival challenges are few and far between and im not the guy to drive 300 laps in the same challenge, i was thinking of something similar than rivals but with more diversity.

What i was thinking of was:

1 player chooses a Car, Tune (Stock, Homologated or a Tune accessible to everyone), Track and condition of his liking, sets a time and posts all the necessary information, then whoever beats him first gets to choose the next stipulation. To guarantee diversity id suggest that the track and car division has to be different from race to race.

The player who has beaten the last challenge has to post a new stipulation within 24 hours or the old challenge is reactivated.

This is just a first concept and open for discussion.

Anyone interested ?

At some point class based leaderboards in rivals mode will return. Some have speculated as early as next month.

When they do arrive, you’ll literally have endless hours of rivals to tackle.

Whenever they add the new track limits feature, they will probably add class based leaderboards.

Have a look at the tuners section. HLR runs a weekly hot lap challenge, they pick a track and homologated division to run - you set your best time with tuning allowed/ encouraged within homologated rules. Work your way up in their divisions or compete amongst your peers within your division. Good fun & lots of quick guys plus plenty of us quick but average in the scheme of things drivers - so always someone to aim to beat

Thanks for the reply. I was aware of those rumors, yet this is not quite what im after as i could already grind the existing leaderboards. I want the randomness of someone else making the rules. I guess i need an incentive.

Thank you DamMe, i had seen the thread of one of those challenges some time ago but was still busy driving all cars.
Its not a 100% fit to what i wanted, as the period of 1 week is quite long compared to what i had in mind, with stipulations changing in quick succession, but i will check it out.

Still if anyone is interested in playing the game i mentioned above let me know

You get someone really quick beats you, which no contender can match, what then. Not knocking your idea, just know from the HLR thing there are some rapid guys out there.

The hot lap challenges run for 1 week, which allows people with busy lives to get a time in.

Heck pick your track, set your time - nothing stopping you, will have a run at it tomorrow night. Chances are someone will chase you down - I’m willing to try for fun. But I know I’m average of the quick ish players & will be outpaced by anyone with real speed.

I don’t quite have the time or willpower for this kind of stuff anymore but I can definitely attest to the fun of the HLR hot lap challenge. Great group of guys, good banter, always willing to share tips with you, and overall a fun time, no matter your skill set. I’ve been meaning to get back into it… soon hopefully.

Your right about the rapid guys, but we could implement a rule like if the time hasn’t been beaten in 3 days the person who was setting the time can choose a new stipulation or pass his right on to someone else.

I was checking this weeks HLC and have test driven some cars to determine which i will use, if i get around to it i will set a first official time tonight.

This game i suggested isn’t meant to be a **** measuring contest, im by no means extraordinarily fast either.

Thanks i will give it a go

I have opened a thread here if anyone wants to play

Stuck a time in & posted. Sure someone else can beat that - we will see

We have hot lap competitions on almost a daily basis in FACR, I just made on myself tbh

search for Fast and clean racing on facebook and apply to the group, tell them that facr delimon sent you and that you are interested in hot lap challenges, it’s a great diverse group of people and I’m sure that you’ll like it

Are they open for anyone? And if so where are they posted?

look up FACR on facebook, it’s a closed group, tell them FACR Delimon sent you because you wanted to race in the hot lap competitions.

Unfortunately i don’t use facebook anymore but thank you :beers:

Edit: That would be a 525 P.I. not the previous stated as that would make it an R Class I believe and certainly breaking the rules.

There’s loads of them! Too many for me, at least. I like the idea of there just being one definitive event each month that everyone agrees is THE event for that month, so I can have a few decent attempts at it over the month. I’ve been seeing that as being the bounty hunter event each month, and these have often consisted of more than one track/car combination in the same month. There seems to be around 1-2 new events per week, on average, which I think is quite a lot, and it means most of them don’t have many people making a serious effort for them.

My main gripe with the rivals isn’t that there aren’t enough of them, it’s that they disappear and the leaderboards and replays are gone. The bounty hunter events could maybe go into an archive section where people can continue to have a go at them even after the cutoff for awarding prizes.

this is an idea I have had to do with at least one of my buddies. Someone picks a track and class or something that limits the cars you can drive in the event for example Indy cars at Road America, person with the fastest lap time at the end of the period chooses the next event that you set times in. Time limit could be anything, I know people have busy lives and can’t play games everyday.

Nice time :+1:
I had beat the time 2 hours before you, but i don’t mind for you to choose the next stipulation.

Please post your time and your stipulation in the game thread as this one here was only meant to find players

I prefer short diverse challenges, that come in quick succession, so there is always something to do, and if i don’t like a stipulation i can sit it out for 2 or 3 days rather than a month.

You are right about the rivals, there are enough of them but people usually set one time and then they are done with the challenge. So if you beat their time there is nothing else to do since mostly they won’t come back to try and beat you again. And i prefer chasing people i “know” over grinding the leaderboards

You and your friends are welcome to play along
