Basic Tuning Help Question

I am wondering if anyone can give me a couple tips. My first question is what would you recommend to tune to get the car to rotate around a corner a bit better? My second question is what would you recommend to tune to help reduce understeer under acceleration? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

When the cars not rotating enough it could be a couple of things really. Try to gradually dial in some oversteer across the board to see if situation improves. Oversteer is generally achieved by softening the front and stiffening the rear, for tires it means increasing front tire pressure and decreasing rear tire pressure. For diff increase accel and decrease decel.

For on-throttle understeer try to dial in some rear toe in and/or increase accel.

Fifty, thanks for the feedback. If you don’t mind me asking a possibly dumb question, if your springs have soft front/stiff rear, should your ARBs and dampers also have the same setup?

Most of the time yes.

Depends on the drive type with both of these issues. The above advice is good for RWD but if you are using FWD or AWD set the front diff really low sorta in the region of 40% accel and 10% decel. On AWD also send like 60%-70% of power to the rear and set the rear diff fairly high. Also on FWD and AWD I do what I can to get a good front end and encourage looseness in the rear. I was driving the BTCC Civic earlier around Brands and having a lot of fun throwing the car into corners using a little rear brake bias and using momentum and throttle to get the car turned. Quick too.
