B600 toyota supra rz (open source tune)

Hi Community ,

I have been tuning B Class cars for online lobbies recently and i am working on a number of cars to cover all types of tracks. This Supra is the 1st one im pretty happy with overall. I am definitely a racer before I am a tuner and i am very new to tuning so any feedback or criticism is welcome please.

This supra is an all round tune which can be competitive on all the tracks. It was Tuned at Spa. Tuned with no assists.

I am a racer not a tuner but i know what feels good and hope you guys/gals enjoy

I’ll build it up and give it a try! I have only run Spa several times, thus, will be good to give it another shot. I am not a great driver, yet, will give it my best.

Thanks RelaxedPRKid,

It was tuned on Spa but it does well on every track i tried it on. Use 3rd gear for most corners and 2nd for hairpins and extremely tight turns. It ovetsteers a tiny bit on corner exit but it helps it rotate around the corners.

Ran 4 laps tonight, and plan to give a nice ride tomorrow. Got a 2:42.866 @ Spa.

To your point, the car did oversteer upon throttle-on corner-exit, so, could probably use a minor Diff tweak. Yet, I also noticed some understeer on the wide/long turns, maybe springs and/or ARB combo. I had a very similar build on one of my Supra’s (B-class), so, build looks pretty good. After I run it again, I’ll pull together a quick tune to see what I can do with the same build. Will provide fdbk at that point.

Many thanks for trying it out and appreciate the feedback looking forward to your adjustments.

Got down to a 2:41 (slightly dirty on last turn/hairpin), was enroute to a 2:40.xxx. Still encountered same issues, which I am trying to compensate for with line…if not, should do better!
.

Ill change a few things you mentioned and will post up changes. Ive got low 2.32s with this tune at spa i like the car loose its faster for me but i will get rid of the oversteer on corner exit and fix the understeer on the long corners

That’s a very decent/great laptime. If it works for you, it should be good for your style, so, no need to change! Unless, it gets you faster as well!
.

I can drive most tunes fast doesnt mean it cant be improved on by better tuners than me

That is certainly true! Though the hierarchy is (1) driver skills, (2) car build, then, (3) tune. I usually measure the bettering of the tune if it is making others and myself get better lap times, while, keeping the car under very good control.

.

Just took your build/tune for another ride at Spa and was able to hit 2:39.732 after 5 laps. I know I could do better than that since I still know there is time left with my driving skills since I messed up several times and on various section times I was inconsistent (off from previous laps). Should be able to hit 2:37-2:38 range. Would take a lot more practice, and a lot of luck, to hit your 2:32 (awesome job!).

So, I will now try to make some changes to the tune and test it out.

hmmmmmm…

False alarm Reaper LOL…but good looking out my friend

Wait…we already passed April Fools Day!

@ OP - any updated tune? I ran a different tune (1st pass) on same build and was able to shave 1.5sec off my dismal (compared to your 2:32) time. I will also try to just tweak your tune a bit to test as well.

Thanks for your effort. Ive actually been playing Project CARS and havent had a chance to retune this yet and play Forza. I will run it some time this weekend and let you know the changes i did.

And apologies this is PTG Greeksniper. My brother must of logged in as jameskalli on my computer and logged me out. Now I cant log back in to mine forgot my email and password :frowning:

No problem, I fully understand Greek! I am also awaiting PCars, yet, in the US it will be May 10 (or 12th) I think. Enjoy it!

Yeah, when Reaper Mech posted asking about the tune I landed at the PTG site and was able to figure it out. I think it’s a great tune, yet for me, it might need a little tweaking for me to be able to drive it faster.

Take care Greek!

Greek,

Here are the changes I would recommend you try out.

Suggested Tune: (Highlighted the changes from your base tune in [brackets].)

28.5/28.5
Stock Gearing
-2.9/-2.6
0.1/[-0.1] - balance toe for better turn-in response, one of my “default” arrangements about 60-70% of the time
5.0
24.92/23.56
[560.2]/[600.0] - reduce oversteer with F/R spring ratio
[6.0]/5.8 - increase 2 tics on F-RH for rear weight transfer and better rear grip
[11.1]/[10.7] - swapped F & R to reduce oversteer
3.8/3.7
100/200
[48]/[130] - personal brake preference, and, reduced braking distance for both 60-0 & 100-0 mph
[20]/13 - reduced Diff Accel to reduce exit-corner throttle-on oversteer

Hope this helps as well for your driving style. Check it out and provide me with some feedback. Thanks!
