*June 2022…
There will be tyre consumption, so AWD will be fast at the beginning but will start suffering later in the race.
The problem is not the AWD or whatever, the problem is the Unrealistic LOCK to LOCK steering speed of the car driven with a controller compared to a wheel. You can do corrections that with a wheel you require to study some strange Anime technics to multiply your arms
AWD conversions shouldn’t be so cheap and easy to do. I think the costs of upgrades need to be adjusted to be similar to current real prices.

Clearly this post is in the wrong section! AWD hasn’t been an issue in FMotorsport in a while from my perspective. And while I’m no Forza pro, none of my fastest cars (outside drag racing) have AWD. But in FHorizon I rarely play with cars that don’t have AWD and rally suspensions! Totally different games.
IIRC PI dropped when you AWD swapped and upgraded a car in FM4
Wouldn’t it usually be the other way around?
In the last few FMs, in B+ classes I believe you get a fairly big PI increase when swapping AWD due to the better acceleration off the line but that means that at equal PI to the same car in RWD guise, the AWD will have less power or worse handling/braking leading to a much slower car overall.
In low class cars that don’t have much traction issues off the line, then yes, PI usually drops when swapping to AWD because of the increased weight.
No, he’s talking about Motorsport lol.
My memory is foggy concerning AWD in Motorsport. I used it in FM4 once and it wasn’t as good as the car’s natural drivetrain. The leaderboard cars from A+ up are all RWD I remember that much. Thank you for clarifying. I think AWD killed your top speed as it should due to power loss from the engine to the wheels, and increased friction tire friction resulting in lower top speed, and heavy understeer in corners. The PI buff came from the massive acceleration boost.
Doesn’t look like we have a lot of fast racers in this thread!
Does not matter the car, stock AWD or stock RWD/FWD converted to AWD, they can rarely compete. There are hardly any AWD cars running top 100 times on any classes, C class thru S Class. They’re are some builds such as the Lancer Evo that can compete online in B and A class but the RWD Meta’s will always win out. Same for the RS in S class.
I think the only time AWD builds win is in heavy rain.
I would love to see some examples of any AWD car dominating in FM7 online or on Leaderboards. I would actually like to see the two drives closer with less of a penalty for the swap.
