Aventador Understeer

Hey guys,

I’m a fairly casual tuner and I’ve built an S1 aventador FE. I love the car itself but im struggling trying to get it to corner well. I have an awd mclaren f1 gt that absolutely rips through corners but i just cant get the lambo to work well. Any recommendations to sort the understeer and make it competitive?

I have always found that if you lower the acceleration of your front diff, possibly increase acceleration in your rear diff and make it so more power goes to your back wheels helps with understeer.
You can also increase downforce over the front wheels and make the front wheels wider but that’ll cost you speed.

Is it under steer while on the throttle? Try moving more power to the rear diff. Add some front negative camber, reduce front arb stiffness. Front downforce. Generally you want to try and fix the end of the car that has the problem but sometimes you have to try the opposite. So if you’re getting understeer and trying to fix it won’t work then start tuning the rear to have oversteer.

Yeah it definitely understeers when i try to power out of a corner. Ill have a play with those recommendations! Alternatively if someone makes a good aventador fe tune for s1 and shares it that would also be great.

What HP/torque are you running? The Aventador FE is a unique beast. Hence it coming with drag tires as standard with the only other option being FH racing tires. While still having my own tune for it as an unlisted WIP, I’ve checked out some others and the one I have found to work the best (albeit slightly soft in the ARB area) is one that uses drag tires, -0.75 camber front and -0.5 rear, ~14.5psi front and rear, running 1191HP and 623 lb/ft at 2718 lbs., 46/54 weight distribution, 6 liter displacement, and a LW kit. Personally, I always adjust the downforce based on braking numbers and top speed. Never more than -4.0 camber front or rear unless it’s a purpose built machine.

Funnily enough, I’m having this same issue (not so much understeer, but it wants to and she’s a bit bouncy at times in the front) with my '14 M4 due to the LW kit having no front down force. It isn’t one of my go-to Super Saloons, but I do dig it so I’m keeping the LW on it.

Also, I find it strange how the Reventon FE and the Aventador FE act sooo much differently using the same calculations with the same HP/torque… lol.

A really good tune for the Aventador FE is by a player with the GT: CHEWBACCA 3110

If Your Cars understeering just push mor power on the back the diff should be between 30/70 and 15/85 look that u turn on the acceleration on full on the back and zero braking … and the opposite on the front…, next lower the power of your stabilitors on the front and higher it on the back. also weak springs in the back help a lot… but the suspention shoud push in easy so lower it to… and it should pull out asap… so higher that… (sorry but im not playing on english hope u figure it out)
Usually tune every awd car i race like that…

Hope it helped

I remember this issue in FH3 for a few lambos. I put power 100% to the rear, low front accel settings, and a high spread in front and rear ARBs (20 point difference or something like that). Can’t remember what else I did.

Yeah new lambos are known for understeer in real life too. Not so much the aventador (I’m pretty sure), but the hurcan’s front track width is wider than the rear, so hello understeer!

True.

The huracan doesn’t really understeer too bad in real life though. Not sure about the others. I had seat time in one and managed to slide the rear tires some on a corner exit. It was a good bit more responsive than I was expecting. Braking from a high speed to a 90 degree corner is sketch as hell though. The rear end really lifts up and the car feels very light. Hell of a ride though.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Still working on it but its greatly improved. Pushed power rear wards and tweaked the toe and diff. Tune is uploaded same as my name here. Give it a go and let me know what you think it needs. Ideally it’ll be a competitive multiplayer tune.

If all else fail drop most of the front ARB and reduce rear tire width two or three notches.

Hi, I was struggling with the AventatorFE as well. I really would appreciate your opinion and suggestions. It´s released under my GT “Astrophobe”. Please choose the most recent version.

I’ll have a look later on mate!

Ive started testing on hollyroad circuit to see how they run. My 3rd attempt is lapping around 1.05 in S1. Ill start seeing how they go compared to that

Ran a few laps earlier and it felt pretty good. Some understeer definitely still present but i felt it was a lot more manageable than a default tune. Just seems like a really tricky car to work with but i love it so much i want it to work haha. For my latest S1 tune i started with the settings recommended by HokiHoshi on youtube i think? Specifically the formula for suspension stuff, (max - min) x weight distribution percentage. I found that to be a pretty manageable starting point.

Also swap anna or whatever for telemetry to adjust on the fly

just open up toe and drop front arb…

I put out a tune under my name go check it out

 I like the car too to get really involved in. But it´s a really hassle to get all the power down to something driveable. I will try an S1 tune soon too. Maybe it´s easier to handle than all the torque of an maxed out S2…

Well I’ve been running my S1 tune in online adventure and consistently winning. I think I’ll experiment without rear wing and see if I can make the turn in a little less twitchy but otherwise happy!
