I really gotta hand it to the two players who stuck around until the end of the Playground Games championship the other night, even though they got shut out 5-0 and the rest of their team rage quit after 3.
Which brings up a question; Why is it in these events that are best of 3 or best of 5 or whatever, do players have to complete the final events even when one of the teams has already won? I noticed the same thing before with the co-op tournaments, where it was best of 3 (if I remember right… it’s been a few weeks). We loose two, you’d think the championship would end there, but we have to finish the last race, even though there’s no chance of a comeback. You would think, like in many other contests of this type that once one team wins 2 in a best of 3, or 3 in a best of 5, enough wins to clench a victory, they’d declare a winner, and let everyone move on with their lives. But in this case, one team got shut out, but both teams had to keep playing all 5 events. To make matters worse, some of them were doubled up events, with teams taking turns on defense and offense, which only prolonged the agony.
