Track day meetups are great but if / when you like / need to tune a car there it’s a mess. Select pause menu while driving on track → car ends up to a wall, to grass or what ever there is. A ghosted auto drive would be highly useful also on meetups.
Track days are, however, a bit problematic because many like to stop while on track to park and sometimes also use pause menu to view driver list etc. so auto drive similar to race lobbies wouldn’t work well here.
For meetup lobbies, a smart auto drive would be the best of both worlds. It would enable auto drive for tuners but it wouldn’t interfere if someone wants to stop while on track. A smart auto drive would recognize if a player was driving or not.
Example:
When pause menu is selected:
- If a car was moving → auto drive [ON] (a car is ghosted)
- If a car was completely stopped → auto drive [OFF] (a car is ghosted if within track limits)
How to enable auto drive after parking on track:
- Slightly move a car and press pause (auto drive now [ON] - the car was moving when paused)
-or- - Press “Auto drive” button in pause menu (RSB for example)
