August content update overview and free 1989 Aston Martin AMR1

1st Track I tried was COTA west one of my test tracks. Looks like they count the Pit Road Blend line as “off track”. Which is weird (putting it nicely) because if you make a pit stop your lap is instantly dirty when you leave pit road? For now it’s not bad just test & tune. But when penalties come the second you leave pit road you will get a penalty! Um???

Your outlap from the pits isn’t likely to be your fastest lap of the race. . .

I think he’s more concerned about penalties for exceeding track limits once regulations are introduced. I too am curious as to how this will eventually pan out, but it’s still a ways off I think.

Things I tested: DORIFUTO and new limits.

The DORIFUTO upgrade is pretty great. I’d even say drifting in FM7 now is more pleasant than in FH3. FH4 will surely benefit from these parts.

Of course, now that I want to drift more actively, I also find that I’m a complete n00b when it comes to building drift cars, but the new suspension gives you a lot more control over the car, though you can still overshoot and lose it if you push it too hard. Nice detail!

New points system is rational and relatively strict, prioritizing skill. Not much time between swings without losing the chain. I like it.

The track limits are great, they’re strict and the line flows much more naturally relative to the track’s features. I was fortunate to try Sebring in the random rotation and this track is gonna play much differently from now on, which is very good. Catalunya’s limits are slightly different as well.

The game’s performance seems slightly improved but I have no idea whether this is a placebo effect or a genuine development.

TDM SilverArrow, Yup that’s what I meant. If you make a pit stop it’s a dirty lap/penalty when introduced. Are there pit stops in ForzaRC? I’m sure they will use new track limits?

Telemetry still not working correctly.
Achievement progress not working also

Xbox One
Full hard reset done.

Everything else is great ! Thank you T10

Pits will always dirty your lap. What about pitting makes it clean? You won’t incur penalties though from pitting when that system comes.

What about clean-race mod cards? In the past it seemed a little bit of a lottery at times as to whether a pit-stop (often necessary when doing Extra Long races) would dirty the lap, obviously for clean-lap mod cards it isn’t an issue but for full clean-race ones it was quite frustrating (especially when you get 40 minutes in to an hour-long race), often if I was unsure I’d start the race, do a single lap and then pit to see if it failed the mod card, if not then I’d just restart the race and if it did then I’d swap the mod card out for another one.

Am I missing something or is there no way to see only A700 (or other class specific) leaderboards?

Where are the angle kits? Their no where to be seen on the numerous cars I checked.

Triton. You do realize pit stops are part of racing & drivers/teams don’t get penalized for pitting their car for fuel & tires. Like I said no big deal now since penalties are not implemented yet. But if what you say is true then it’s all good. I’m just not sure how the game will fair telling the difference between a driver leaving pit road & one swerving across the straight.

He straight up said “You won’t incur penalties though from pitting when that system comes.”

I got a few visual bugs in a couple of races where players were in the wrong car. For example, B class someone was in a Bugatti Chiron, but end results said they were driving an Escort. C class had a Modern Porsche 911, but said Charger.

Some of the track limits seem a little too strict. Like mentioned above, Rio is pretty bizarre; very strict in some spots and lax where you’d expect the line to be. Prague’s chicane does not look fun. I do like what you’ve done with Le Mans, less restrictive around some of the curves than it has been it seems.

I’m pretty happy with the update. Interested to see what the penalties will be.

Lemme get this straight… for nearly a year (and more, if you count previous FMs) EVERYONE and his sister is asking for one thing more than ANY other thing: clean (or, heck, half-way-clean) racing AIs. Very simple, but very rational thing to ask for. And some might say, essential for a serious racing game (where AIs crash into you, like there’s no tomorrow).

So, now we get this “greatest ever” big ballihoo update. And it’s mainly…

track limits

Something hardly anybody asked for. Not that we get finally clean-AIs. No, the opposite. WE are being asked to race even cleaner.

Haha. Gotta love waaay-out-of-touch devs.

(The Aston is kick ass, tho.)

Love the update, great to have time attack rivals back.

Couple of thoughts:

  • track order in time attack rivals is messed up
  • lighting conditions for dry weather are always the same per track. And even though it’s not the default midday sunny on all the tracks (for example, Prague is cloudy/overcast, and Rio is dusk/dawn) it would be great to have the lighting variation since it’s already in the game. I understand that the weather needs to be fixed/same for all wet tracks, but for dry it wouldn’t really change the conditions other than it would give more visual variety. So would be great to sometimes hotlap in midday sunny, sometimes dusk/dawn, sometimes overcast (with same leaderboard/ghosts though).

They STRAIGHT UP said the garage issues were fixed last update & there were still paint issues? You can say anything, like STRAIGHT UP where’s the Drag Racing? Still a great update & lots of hard work went into this, it’s appreciated. Ok as I’m writing this the new Aston P1 door just flew off on it’s own sitting in the homespace. No joke it literally just un hinged & flew away. Hope my cousin dosen’t mind but I’m jacking his Youtube for a minute and putting the Aston up Aston Door Glitch - YouTube & Hey my door flew back home. Hey my door is back! - YouTube

Well then they STRAIGHT UP said these new features would be introduced over several updates. My garage works fine.

Ok did 5 laps of Spa and the limits are certainly stricter there - Eau Rouge is nowhere near as lax as it was and a few of the other corners have tightened up - never realised I used so much kerb on corner exit there. Overall a great improvement and if anything it’s making me want to keep running more laps as I know there is so much time to find!

So I guess doors randomly flying off cars is normal?

In a pre race menu, who cares? It’s entertaining when cars drive threw drivatars, fall on top one another, or fall from the sky.
