I used to remember my tires going over the redone patches of road on Mid Ohio e.g. and making a satisfying sound to indicate that the tires are going over a patched/redone road surface.
Also on the Nurburgring, the carousel finally made the tires produce a distinct sound when going over them.
These effects have either been removed or severely toned down since update 9.
There are other tracks too with patches of road redone or patched up, I don’t know what the term is, where you used to hear pronounced road noise or “tire clapping” sounds when going over them. Those have been removed.
I don’t have time to show everyone videos. The developers can reproduce this on their own.
Mid Ohio used to have these road noise effects when going over the darker/redone patches of road and so did both carousels on The Ring. These effects are gone and on the carousels, you can now barely hear any kind of distinct road noise.
Still not hearing the tire clapping sounds going over redone patches of tarmac on Mid Ohio. It’s there on the other tracks (although faint) so can’t understand why Mid Ohio got singled out.
Also, the Nurburgring tire clapping sounds over the carousels were very good when introduced initially in one of the updates a few months back. Those have been toned down too. Again, I fail to understand why.
A few updates back, Mid Ohio used to have tire clapping sounds when going over resurfaced patches of tarmac. It’s an effect present on many other tracks with redone patches and beautifully enhances immersion.
Don’t know why it was removed from Mid Ohio. Please restore.
Actually, they need to to completely redo the surface texture of Mid-Ohio. As my “home” track, it bugs me that it feels like it’s not handled properly. The last time I drove it in Forza, they seem to have added sealer patches everywhere that never existed in real life.
The real track didn’t look like that last year, and it should have been updated to be completely smooth. The track was completely repaved in the off season. I actually just drove it Monday and it’s totally smooth. I can get over the annoying wall, but I also wish they’d add the chicane layout that gives the keyhole its name.
Edit: that might actually be part of why the sound isn’t there at all - the dark sealer at almost every turn was added at some point in the last few months where it wasn’t in the original release of the track. Again, no idea why since the track wasn’t/isn’t in that kind of shape.

Some tracks have patches of fresh tarmac e.g. VIR and many others, which creates a satisfying scraping sound as you go over them. I think it even improves grip, who knows.
Anyway, when you drive over these patches on Mid Ohio, there’s no scraping sound. So I was wondering if this inconsistency can be addressed.
Thanks.
im also having this same issue
people either don’t have good sound systems or don’t notice much - only 5 votes!
i don’t understand why they would remove this sound from Ohio only. makes no sense at all
