I feel like the tire squeal in this game is over the top. Combined with the questionable control input of the game all I hear is tire squeal in almost
every turn. While on the other hand the interior engine sound seems too low compared the ai cars.
We need volume sliders in this game!
Other Forza games had them, and most of the new gen racing games have them.

I completely agree about the tire squeel, it is way too much.
Today I tried to drive through a corner without any squeal at all (top gear track with that 3.8 hunday coupe). Even at about 40 km/h (25 mph) in a very moderate turn, there was a bit of tire noise.
This is a bit annoying, but then again it should be relatively easy to fix.
I also felt that the engine noise is a little bit too tame in relation to everything else around you. And I feel that there is little difference in volume between the different cars either. Driving in a Focus ST and an old mustang Mach 1 should be two completely different experiences when it comes to the sounds you hear. Not only the difference between a modern 4 banger and an old V8 in terms of sound, but the difference in volume as well.
Recreating something like this should theoretically just need a balance pass of the engine noises, but who knows. It might be a lot more complicated.
Forza already sounds pretty awesome, but there still is room for improvement!
I believe in forza 6 on xbone changing to headphones in sound settings gave a more realistic sound space, more engine noise at least.
Yes, I am using the headphones and high quality settings and I felt that this has improved things a little bit. Still way too much tire noise and not much difference in overall volume though.
In-car engine sound for the player car is much too quiet. Other surrounding cars almost completely overshadow my own engine sound, making it very hard to get the right shift points without constantly looking at the rev counter.

Agreed, its really hard to hear your own engine RPMs and when to shift over the other cars.
And the tire squealing is WAY WAY too loud! (that needs toned down A LOT)
People have been asking for volume sliders since the launch of forza 5, ive been starting to think it may not happen lol. I will say the tire screeching sounds are a lot more pronounced in apex compared to forza 6, and i agree it sounds horrible. As far as in car engine volume, changing it to headphones in forza 6 supposedly does lower your opponents cars, but to be honest i never really heard a difference, i dont know if this carried over to apex but i would assume it did.
Yeah, I’m on headphone/High quality settings and it barely makes a difference. (and i am actually using headphones also)
Maybe I’ll try it with out the headphones with my 5.1 speakers and see if that makes a difference.
The wife isn’t gonna like it though…LOL
Agreed.
Though I hope this was a feature left out due to the “beta” status and will eventually make its way back in.
I completely agree… But sadly this has been an issue with forza 5 and 6 on the xbox one as well and there has been alot of people complaining about it without them doing anything, so would not expect them to listen this time either ;
Makes me again wonder what is the point of the beta when they are neither communicating here on their very own forums or listening to any criticisms.
Hollywood sound effects lol
