Audi r18-E tron launch problems?

I picked up Forza 5 two weeks ago and finally got around to racing the Prototype class and can’t get a good launch in this car, I race manual w/clutch and hold the throttle all the way down but as soon as the race starts it pretty much stalls out and am stuck while everyone drives off. Is this an issue everyone has? Or am I just doing it wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue and I’m not sure if anyone is doing anything different but if you tap the clutch quickly while giving it gas it will get up and go.

The 1st gear on the e-tron is wrong - it’s a documented bug

(the change to the new forums was a master-stroke in terms of knowledge obfuscation)

I had this just re tune your gears till it don’t do it anymore. Mine is now fine

I simply can’t launch this car at the beginning of a race. It just bogs down like three or four times. I havent changed the gearing because I didnt think it would be necessary just for a career race. Anyone else had this problem?

Okay thanks man.

change the gearing

Meh, you don’t want to use the e-tron anyway. It DOES handle great, I’ll give it that, but it is SLOW. Tops out at less than 180 MPH.

Get yourself a 2009 Peugeot 908 racecar. It handles ALMOST as good as the Audi, and is much faster on the straight. I destroyed the LMP series with one of these, straight out of the box (meaning no tuning or upgrades) on max difficulty, no assists. Great car.

I changed the gear ratio the first time I drove it problem solved. I never, never stick with the stock tune, stock tunes many times are not very good. This Audi needs a lot a adjustments to make it drive nice and it will drive very nice when tuned properly and is easy to drive for a P class car. Problem is that it will be much slower than a Mazda 787 no matter what you do to it.

What did you change the first gear ratio to?

What did you change the first gear ratio to?

Anything different than what it is. As it sits, first and second gear are right on top of each other. Just slide first gear over to the right maybe 0.5 - 1.0 and see what happens.

Your best bet would be to take it onto a track in test drive mode and experiment until you’re happy with it.

I have exactly the same problems on many of the S/R-Class and above when using Manual w/clutch. They work perfect in just manual. But if you want to use clutch then you HAVE to change the gears, it shouldn’t really be a problem as it should launch well without having to change the gears, but I guess it’s something people will just have to deal with.

To anyone who sees this, this bug is on other prototypes as well, so, be warned.

hello I have a problem with my car has several accout to 18 km fortune for that ball there is nothing I even went to the free play leased the problem remains

Sir, I gonna need you to step out the car please…

Forza tried to simulate the r-18 having a super tiny clutch and as a result its a real pain in the but to get off the line

You need to feather the clutch in / out on the r18 when you launch it to get it moving. Try pressing the clutch in and out while you start out.

lol

It would be a better sim if it were a different car that didn’t start. Or if the Quattro would burst into flames just sitting in your garage.
