Auction House and Too Many Saves Issue

Console: Xbox Series X

Every time I purchase a car at the Auction House regardless of value, painted with a custom livery, stock livery but different colour or even simply stock paint, when collecting the car I get the message “Too Many Saves” error followed by the “Resolve Failed” error.

I have double-checked I have over 200+ slots available for paints, and over 400+ for tunes, I have no photos, challenges, blueprint etc shared, I have unshared, then deleted them all, hoping would solve the issue.

Have not worked.

After I press ok under both error messages, the car that I have purchased is automatically collected but, it defaults to stock paint.

I am aware that under the “known issues” list there is this listing:

Saves

  • Saves - Some players are getting a “Too Many Saves” error message when interacting with liveries and tunes. (3277522) (Date Added:02.25.22)

The reason I’m asking this is, I don’t get this message when downloading tunes, installing tunes, downloading liveries or making my own liveries saving and sharing, I only get this error at the Auction House.

My game as of today July 18th 6 Stars level 738, Legendary Level 20 painter at 1,119 hours I’m seriously concerned about getting a corrupt save game, is it a safe reliable fix to this?

Thanks

I do not know where you check your available slots for paints and tunes, but this -on XBox- is no information available to the user.
The numbers which can be easily accessed are only those that show how many you yourself have created and saved, maybe shared, but not how many you have downloaded and stored overall (and which occupy a precious slot).
As for paintjobs, you would have to go under “My Designs” and count all the car pictures, as for tunes you will have to visit each single (unique) car, then check “My tunes” (either in the Garage, Upgrade or under Creative Hub, Tunes) and count these.
An impossible task IMO, as there is no file browser, you only are notified if you exceed the limit.

As for clearing these out, goto “My Designs” and start deleting.
As for tunes, check each car, My tunes and delete those tunes shown below.

For the future, You can delete tunes you just applied, the tune stays with the car, only the download file gets deleted.
This is what I normally to nowadays, download a tune, then delete the file immediately afterwards.
Sadly this option is not available for designs.

Thanks for the info,
Addressing your reply, there is a way to count, you simply count manually what you have assuming your issue is with paint (which my doesn’t appear to be that, my issue is at the Auction House)

The other point in regards the designs, the work around that is;
Reach your daily amount of listing at the Auction House, once you reach the limit and you can no longer list a car for sale, you then can list the cars you want to keep the paint, once it’s listed and rejected the system see the car as new, then you can go ahead and delete the design, just like a tune once installed you can delete it, will be the same to the paint once it’s added to your garage again after being rejected due to your daily limit.

I ran into this issue as well.

There’s two livery limits.

There’s the obvious one we all know about with the 500 slots.

And there’s a hidden one that you eventually run into, if like me for example, you channeled designs through the auction house in order to free up design slots. This limit is not well sign posted as the pop up is confusingly worded.

I simply deleted some of the liveried cars I had sent through the auction house and I don’t get that message. I no doubt will run into the ‘hidden limit’ again when I eventually pull enough liveried cars out of the auction house.

So, in short I believe it’s a hidden design limit and if you don’t delete cars with auction house ‘liveries’ you’re stuck.

Thanks for the reply Patrick

I’m a bit confused here, so even if I already ran the cars thru the Auction House process that is, reach daily limit then list to fail at listing so car becomes a “new” car and then going to the livery library deleting that livery, even after all this the livery still counts as for this “hidden” limit ?

Thanks

Yes.

It took alot of sending liveries thru the auction house to reach the ‘hidden’ limit. I must have spent more than a year doing it. But eventually I bumped up against it. Couldn’t retrieve liveries from either the auction house or the gifting section - even though everything else was OK. I could only start pulling liveries out again when I deleted a bunch of ‘auction house liveried’ cars from my garage or just wiped the livery from the cars.

Thanks again Patrick for replying

I own about 650 cars
Problem is I don’t remember by memory which cars are auction anymore,
I have quite a few cars that have liveries but I deleted the file/paint slot doing the auction post after reaching daily limit to fail process to free the slots
I didn’t know that even after the slot was deleted still counts as a livery

I really wish someone from PGG could clarify if this is a matter of “continuing will eventually corrupt my game save”

It’s so frustrating, the lack of clarification, I had more cars on FH4 with more liveries I never ran into this issue, I did reach limit which back then our library of liveries was displayed with a total count, that was easily fixed, but with this issue, could be anything …

Did you just gave up on your cars with liveries ?

After update

Down to 22 cars with liveries with saved slots (downloaded from other creators)

109 designs shared (created by me)

102 car painted with liveries out of this total 80 of them don’t have the paint livery slot, only 22 as stated above

Still getting errors when buying painted cars, or selling.
Still automatically having the car when purchased converted to stock paint as I collect it

Help

From what you are saying you do have a different issue from me. My garage is stuffed at circa 997 mark and I sent large amounts of cars through the AH to fail & thus free up several slots. My issue was temporarily remedied by wiping auction house liveries off a bunch of cars. I knew which one’s were what from memory and just checked if they had a slot or not in the livery section if I wasn’t sure. You seem to be encountering a much larger problem AFAIK. Btw, I’m playing on console.

I really don’t know how else to find a solution
Or
If this will ever corrupt my game
Or
If PGG can fix on their end

Feels a bit helpless

Anyone ?

@Sammywammybarz @Patrick_Moon500 is this issue still happening since installing recent FH5 updates?

Hi, the issue self fixed about a month ago it stopped.
Thanks

It hasn’t reoccurred, I presume because we now have more livery/tuning spaces. :+1:

This issue has resurfaced. Ticket opened: 583189

Collecting a car from the AH with a livery gives error “You have too many saves of this file type. Please delete some from the file manager before saving anymore”. Followed by error “The FH5 server is not available…”. Deleting liveries WILL NOT resolve this error, so please do not suggest that. The car does get added to garage, but the livery is stripped away. Issue is easy to recreate. Just buy/collect a car with a livery (maybe tunes too, but tunes don’t seem to get stripped - PI is consistent before/after collect). This was an issue a long time ago. Unfortunate that it has come back. Also, this wasn’t an issue after the last client update and has only started in the last few days. When was the last server change made?

aaaand - ticket closed as resolved (without actually being resolved).

Hi all,
I had the same issue since 4 weeks. It doesn’t matter if I play on my PC (WIN) or an my console (XBOX X). Support only forced me to do some workarrounds which all didn’t help. Yes, ticket closed as resolved, but problem isn’t solved!
Deleting cars, liveries doesn’t help.
New update doesn’t solve the problem either.
Last week it worked for one day, but know I can’t sell cars in the auction house again. The message appears also when buying cars, but the cars appaer in my car list. I can tune cars, upgrade cars and give them a new livery … this works, even the message pops up.
I hope there will be a solution at some stage!

and if you hit your maximum AH sales for the day, and try to sell a car with a livery, you get the usual “you’ve reached your max” msg, but then the livery error pops and the car is returned to your garage without the livery. We had this exact problem a LONG time ago and here we go again.

Tickets on this issue are closed with the following statement because Too Many Saves is a Known Issue:

“We are currently investigating this issue and have added your information to our investigation. I am marketing this ticket as “Solved” as we do not require more information from you for our investigation and we don’t need to bother you with a ton of questions or troubleshooting tips as it’s being worked on by our devs already.”

Closing tickets as Solved is not intended to mean Fixed; this is a ticketing process step.

I don’t have details on why this would only affect Auction House liveries, so unfortunately we can only wait on results of the investigation into this issue.
