I don’t know why some people are so vehemently denying it’s “bots” and claim it’s just “fast humans”. Everybody that has little bit more experience with the AH knows what’s going on there. The majority of the snipes are not done by humans…FACT!
Show me where anyone did that. People are pointing out that it’s not only bots. Assuming it’s bots when you really don’t know is just people getting upset and looking to place blame.
Did you read the thread including your own post? Of course it’s not only bots. If it would be none of us would be able to get a rarely listed car. Do me a favor and do what I’ve said in post #10 and you’ll see why I come to the conclusion it’s mainly bots.
This was your claim. Back it up or stop putting words in other people’s mouths.
You and PW said you’re faster than a bot which you aren’t or do you think you’ve the reaction times of AI? I’ve sent PW a video showing how fast these bots are when it comes to buying and especially refreshing. No human stands a chance here.
Why don’t you just look it up and stop lamenting? It’s to the overwhelming part bots that are doing the hardcore sniping.
Something else I never claimed. You just can’t help yourself from making things up, can you?
Yes the PC players are mean to you! It must be that, it can’t be you!
I’m on PC myself but keep denying the reality if you like.
there are definitely bots, and there are definitely great snipers. I got 20 Lambo SVJ in a row once, and a guy messaged me and said I was using a bot and him and his friends were going to get me banned and “harm” me. lo and behold, I am still here, and he is not.
I’ve also tested selling/buying with 2 consoles right next to each other, and it’s about 90% successful, but in a game with so many players and so few rare cars, you’re gonna get random snipes no matter what you do.
Hm. I never categorically said I’m faster than than a bot.
In the one video I saw of such a bot, it took longer than is possible (at least on my console) to close the window after an unsuccessful search and search again. So had another car already been shared it maybe could have been sniped by a human player or another bot.
bots do grunt work, but they don’t do it at superhuman speed. the UI has limitations, humans and bots aren’t that different at sniping only difference is you can walk away from a bot and go do whatever Forza hackers do on their downtime I guess
So today i was trying to snipe a Huayra, and 4 separate times when searching an auction happened to show up that was already bought out. So i could see who won. This is pretty rare. As you know, usually if you see the auction, it apears to be still open. Well, the 4 times it showed the auction even though it was already bought out, the winner was the same “person”. A quick look on youtube revealed many videos of people running scripts on PC.
There are most definitely bots. Its not all bots, all the time, though. I still try to snipe from time to time because i succeed from time to time. I have fast hands. But usually i try to snipe in the early morning hours pacific standard time because thats when i have the most success.
But im done trying to get a Huarya right now, because trying outsnipe this “person” who keeps winning seems foolhardy.
There are definitely bots sniping auctions; that’s been the case for quite a while, but most times it just has to do with your internet speed & how fast you are with the necessary combo. I jumped on last night to look at the playlist, dreading another 40pt car, I decided to see what the AH was doing & picked up the MB 280SL pretty quickly. I can’t imagine the Huayra being a heavily farmed bot car at this point, but who knows. I find that typically when you see the same person snagging cars, it won’t last long. Otherwise, at least the Huayra is only 20pts which is easily obtainable. Good luck with it.
The connection speed may be why i have more success in the early AM. I get that. But this “person” i saw today seems to be having way more success than a bot that functions at human speeds even with a fast connection. I suspect their connection may be very good, but that their script works faster than humanly possible. I think there was less of that kind of thing in FH4. And id bet there will be even more of it in FH6. Just seems to be a major trend in PC gaming that game developers are behind on.
Edit: i dont know if the Huarya is being heavily farmed in general today, but this one person is definitely heavily farming it today. i saw him win 4, and those were just the extremely rare occasion of timing it so that i see the auction right as it was completed. I saw 4 of those, but lost at least 20 auctions in the same 45 minutes where i didnt see the winner.
Yeah, definitely sucks when it’s like that. Doesn’t surprise me there is a lot of attention on it as it is definitely a cool car, so there are probably those trying to stock-pile for later when they are harder to find. I would hope they get some of the bot abuse under control, along with a lot of the other exploits that continue to go unchecked, but I honestly don’t hold out much hope that will happen. Would be nice to actually play the game on a more level playing field all around though.
Agreed. It would be nice but im not too hopeful, either.
It would already help if players could only buy a certain amount of the same car in a certain time frame. Like let’s say five in 24h.
Good in theory, but then the 20 alt accounts come out to save their day as they do with the design & tune monopoly. Those willing to cheat the system for their own gain will always find a way it seems. SMH
If you wait a minute on that screen the auction will show as closed and display the winning gamertag. Imo it’s not worth the time but it does work.
Any car added gets bought early as part of the buy low sell high philosophy. The Huayra will probably be popular so it may get easier to buy when it’s over 10m. Some of the others have topped out around 10m ± recently so they seemed easier to get at a lower buyout.
Ah. Thanks. Didnt know that.
So having just learned that i can see auction winners if i want, i decided to pause the football so i can fast forward thru commercials and check whats going on in the Huarya market. In about 30 minutes:
3 different gamertags won 1 each.
1 gamertag won 3.
2 gamertags won 4 each.
1 gamertag won 5.
1 gamertag won 10. TEN!
And there were 2 auctions that i accidentally backed out of before seeing who won. 3 of those gamertags i recognized as people flooding the AH with multiple rare cars that have been out for a while.
I felt like a crazy person searching that many times and my hand now hurts. Now, if had just won 9 of those things and started manually searching for #10, i would be an actual crazy person, not just feel like one. So Im doubting that 100% of those winners were manually hitting buttons.
