I use only ABS and I am curious what I get for not using certain assists. Not the first cars I have pondered this but I took the Koenigsegg and Alfa Romeo TZ2 out for a flight and noticed my tail lights particularly in the Alfa were really keen on leading the way and went for a test drive (Alfa) with the stability and traction control on and it was a different car entirely. I don’t mind the slip and slide I get with them off and if you were to be realistic most of the earlier cars had none of that tech. but clearly, the cars I am competing against have it on and then some looking at their cornering. So am I getting XP or CR or nothing? I have the Drivatar difficulty set to Pro which is a bit of challenge in these cars.
Assists settings don’t provide a payout modifier. Those are supplied by Mods which force certain assists.

True but right now Drivatar difficulty bonuses in free play seem to not work as reported by others. Will this be fixed soon?

Sometimes if you change the setting ie from Pro to Expert for a few races it leaves the Difficulty and Assists out altogether in the tally I had nearly a whole day of it when trying to figure out the best setting for me. In the free play, I just have it set to Pro now and have got the bonus each and every time for weeks.
I am of the same opinion with ABS and pedal fade it is like the brakes on a horse and cart. Most modern cars and very high-end cars have such features so it is not cheating or no one should feel less of a driver for using them. A few times the Stability or more Traction control has caused me grief when off due to a Drivatar knocking my car and once I am trying to correct and power on I get wheelspin slippin and a sliding while the offender sails on by. Until I catch the mongrel and give it the PIT that is. Should have a Road Rage bonus in this game if they are going to leave the AI like it is.
Okay, thanks for the info. The reason I turned off the Traction and Stability was due to the use of a mod card nearly a month ago and never bothered to put them back on. Unless I use one of them I am just making things harder than they need to be. Although more than once I have ended up being a passenger for a brief period and picked up a place or two in the process.
Recently I was watching a Streamer on youtube and he asked the same question because someone asked him why he was using ABS (he plays TCS and SCS off already). Someone told him that that is the second best assist to turn off in order to be faster. He turned it off during that session and his lap times dropped by a couple seconds as soon as he figured out the shorter brake zones and the trigger control. I did the same after watching that stream, and I can say that my driving has greatly improved (I still use TCS on some cars).
I find the cars more difficult to stop with abs on. Using a mod card forcing abs on and I can’t tell you how many times I had to abort the corner to keep from hitting the drivitars in front of me. Yep, brakes won’t lock, just fade, fade, fade. Kind of fun.
You know if you have ABS turned off in the assist menu even if you use an ABS ON card, your ABS will still be OFF. And, you still get the bonus from that card.
Sooo, if you had ABS off in assist menu and used that card all you saw was a placebo effect really.

That’s because that ABS on isn’t what you think it is. It doesn’t mean you need to turn ABS on, it means the highest level of brake assist you’re allow to use is ABS on. So both ABS on and off give you the bonus. Same goes to other assist mod cards. Although I have to admit the way they’re described is very misleading.
I just chose Forza’s veteran setting from the menu so abs is on, brake line, and manual no clutch. That’s really the only reason I selected the abs on mod card.
What you get for using or not using certain assists is the fun of driving the cars the way you like without having to worry about getting punished payout-wise.

The only benefit now is being faster. Every previous Forza did pay out more for turning off assists, so I weened myself off them. Now I feel like the only payout for assists is to intentionally handicap my car with a mod card.

I wish they rewarded players for driving with no assists, and we need a multiplayer lobby for no assists rwd racing
I don’t know if it’s just me but I prefer to drive with ABS off as I think the car takes FOREVER to slow down with it on. Driving without assists on just means you have to brake and accelerate more delicately, especially in RWD cars. To tackle wheel spinning whilst going around corner in a FWD car with TSC off, I’d say put on a differential and tweak it a bit so it stiffens it all up and minus’ the spinning.

Honestly we should get a benefit for turning them off but hey. I personally don’t us any assist, not TC nor ABS not with any car, even in the rain, cos I’m a boss.

I am probably with you on the skill side of things as there is a certain achievement feeling to the whole thing and I don’t really care about the CR since with the VIP and Mods available is more than enough but maybe a little XP would encourage everyone to better themselves by turning them off one by one.
ABS is a terrible assist to have on. If you’re always wondering why people are punting you going into corners in multiplayer, it’s because ABS is making you brake waaay earlier than you need to. Braking should be one of those things that you can do instinctively, and if you don’t know how to control brake pressure than you should go to test drive and practice until you do. Having ABS on makes you a detriment for other drivers and yourself.
